There is an opportunity for an Accounting Intern or Junior Accountant role with a research and consulting firm. Ideal candidates for this position can be:

• In the OND and HND gap year, and looking for an Industrial attachment opportunity.
• A candidate who has completed the ICAN ATS.
• Fresh graduate waiting for NYSC or looking for a place to serve.
• Any other young and capable accountant, preferably 25 years old or younger.

The position is in a relaxed and stress free environment, and the candidate will sometimes work with a senior accountant and report to the company director. The candidate is expected to demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge commensurate with some tertiary education in accounting. The candidate is expected to be a self starter who can work with little supervision, show initiative, and prioritize key tasks.
Please do not respond if you do not know the basics like the accounting equation, financial statements, and the GL impact of routine transactions.

Specific duties will include:
• Assisting with financial analysis, recording and monitoring of expenses, especially for the petty cash account.
• Recording and posting of financial transactions
• Miscellaneous and special finance projects as needed.
• Assisting with tax, pension and other statutory remittances

The company is located in the Ilupeju/Palmgrove Estate axis, and it is highly recommended that the candidate be within easy commuting distance from this area.

The internship will be for six months, and will pay a generous stipend, and depending on performance and the candidate’s educational situation, there could be the opportunity to transition into a permanent role.
