Nigerian Entertainment Companies That Have Gone EXTRA MILES
• EME (Empire Mates Entertainment)

This Article would incomplete without mentioning Empire Mates Entertainment whose boss is Banky Wellington popularly called Banky W. Although this year we have not heard much from EME musically, EME was the “Baddest Crew” with the “Baddest Boss” according to Wizkid, and Banky W in their EME All Star song released in 2012. Undoubtedly, Banky W went EXTRA MILES by signing Wizkid, ShayDee, Skales, and Niyola the same period of time. He tried to make all of them successful, but unfortunately for him, not all turned out to be successful immediately (not all plants grow at the same pace), as he was not able to tap from what Skales had on the inside.
• SHEBA ENTERTAINMENT

Sheba Entertainment which is an independent label with Smacby as its lead artiste who has released hit singles such as “No Lies”, “Mr Ronaldo” and added a verse to Kiss Daniel’s “Woju” which is currently hitting the air waves has gone EXTRA MILES in creating the most appealing advertising opportunity for brand owners through its MIX titled “Your Product” on one hand and “Advertisers’ Mix” on the other hand. Your Product which is customers ‘Audio Magazine’ and advertisers ‘Handy Radio Station’ is created in such a way that customers don’t have to look for products and services anymore, all they have to do is get the mix which is given out for free, and listen to it to know more about brands, products and services, and what they have to offer, while companies and brand owners get their Jingles/Commercials on the mix instead of spending a fortune on slot bookings on Radio Stations as it is relatively cheap, with great visibility, and has total market penetration.
• MARVIN RECORDS

Don Jazzy of Marvin Records is proving to be the “Baddest Boss” with the “Baddest Crew” as he has also gone EXTRA MILES to sign a couple of artistes which includes Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, Koredo Bello, Reekado Banks, and Di’Ja amongst others, and they have been dropping hits ever since. Part of which is “Dorobucci” which featured Marvin All Stars and became a hit in 2014. Then we see Reekado Banks with “Turn up ft Tiwa Savage”, and “Katapot”, Koredo Bello with “GodWin”, and Dija with “Awww” etc. Interestingly, unlike EME, Marvin’s boss is proving to be on top of his game, as they all have hit songs individually, and he is still able to manage them. The question is this: Is Don Jazzy truly the Don of the Nigerian Music Industry? Well, only time will tell.
