SPECIAL RECRUITMENT OF
TECHNICIANS AND SPORTSMEN/WOMEN
INTO THE NIGERIAN AIR FORCE

The Nigerian Air Force invites dynamic young Nigerians to take advantage of this special recruitment exercise of technicians and sportsmen/women to serve as airmen/airwomen. Six qualified candidates from each state and the Federal Capital Territory will be selected. Successful candidates will undergo military training for six months.

REQUIREMENTS

1.         Technicians. Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years and possess OND in any of the following disciplines:

                                           Electrical engineering.
                                           Electronics engineermg.
                                           Electrical/electronics engineering.
                                           Mechanical engineering.
                                           Telecommunications engineering.
                                           Chemical engineering.
                                           Computer engineering.
                                           Metal works.

2.         Sportsmen/women. Candidates must be between 18 and 22 years. They must also possess credits in English Language and two other subjects in SSCE, NECO or GCE 0/Level. In addition, candidates must be good in at least one of the following:
                                           Athletics (track and field).
                                           Boxing.
                                           Cross country.
                                           Football.
                                           Golf.
                                           Judo.
                                           Swimming.
                                           Taekwondo.
                                           Weightlifting.
                                           Wrestling.

Medal winners at previous National Sports Festivals will have an advantage.

Nigerian Army Recruitment portal for the 63rd Regular Recruits Intake
Requirement:

#  Applicants shall be of Nigerian origin by birth
# Applicants are to be recruited in their Zones.
# Applicants must be between the age of 18 and 22 years for Non-Tradesmen/women and 26 years for Tradesmen/women at the time of entry into the Depot NA. For female Applicants, possession of Nursing, Catering, Computer Operations etc certificates has added advantage.
# Applicants must be medically and physically fit and must not be less than 1.65meters tall for men and 1.63meters for women.
# Applicants must be free of any Criminal conviction.
# Applicants must submit all duly completed forms (printed from this online portal) at the exam venue on the date of the exam.

RECRUITMENT INTO THE NIGERIAN NAVY

1.     An applicant can enlist into the Nigerian Navy as an officer or a rating having satisfied the general conditions which include nationality, educational qualification, age, medical state, physical fitness as well as freedom from criminal conviction. Other requirements will depend on the type of entry/commission and qualification. Eligibility and conditions of enlistment for the various modes of entry into the NN are spelt out below.

OFFICERS

2.     There are 3 mode of entry into the NN as an officer. These are Cadet Entry (Regular Combatant), Direct Short Service and Special Duty (applicable to ratings only).

3. Regular Combatant Commission. Regular Combatant Commission into the Nigerian Navy is open to Nigerians specified below.’

a.     Soldiers/Ratings/Airmen with appropriate qualifications.
b.     Civilians with appropriate qualifications
c.     They are to undergo military training at an officer cadet training institution and must.’

(1) Be between 16 and 21 years of age at the date of commencement of training.

(2) Be medically fit in accordance with the Medical Standard for the Services.

(3) Have a minimum of 5 credit passes at G.C.E. O/L or WASC or
NECO or SSCE or Grade II Teachers Certificate or National Technical Certificate or their equivalent obtained in not more than 2 sittings in subjects relevant to the Faculty/Course of the/i- choice.

(4) Be a Nigerian citizen by birth.

(5) Be recommended by his Commanding Officer in the case of a serving soldier/rating/airman.

(6) Sit and pass the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) entrance examination and the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB).

(7) Satisfy the requirements for commissioning.

(cool Must be unmarried at the time of starting cadet training.

4. Direct Short Service Commission. Direct short service commission into the Nigerian Navy is open to Soldiers/Ratings/Airmen with appropriate qualifications and Civilians with appropriate qualifications. In order to be considered for the grant of a Direct Short Service Commission, a graduate of a recognized university or holder of a recognized professional qualification must fulfill the following conditions:

a. Be between 22 and 35 years of age for both serving personnel and civilians.
b. Medically fit in accordance with the Medical standards for Services.
c. Possesses a degree from a recognized university or recognized professional qualification.
d. Be of a Nigerian citizen.


CATEGORIES OF ENLISTMENT FOR OFFICERS
5. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Nigerians for Direct Short Service Commission into the Nigerian Navy in the under listed Departments.
(a) ENGINEERING Applicants must possess BSc or MSc in Naval Architecture/Ship Design, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Aeronautical, Electronics Engineering and equivalent qualifications and applicants must be members of Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN).
(b) MEDICAL. Medical Specialists. Applicants must possess MBBS degree or Equivalent plus registerable post graduate/specialist qualifications. Preference would be given to Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Cardiologists, ENT Surgeons, Radiologists, Pathologists, Pediatricians, Physicians, General Surgeons, Psychiatrists, Orthopedic Surgeons, Anesthetists and Optometrists.
(1) Doctors. Applicants must be members of the Nigerian Medical or Dental Council of Nigeria.
(2) Dental Surgeon. Applicants must possess registerable degree acceptable to the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council.
(3) Physiotherapists. Applicants must possess BSc
Physiotherapy and must be members of institute of the Nigerian
Society of Physiotherapists.
(4) Pharmacists. Applicants must possess a degree in Pharmacy and must be members of Pharmacy Board of Nigeria.
(5) Medical Lab Scientists. Applicants must possess BSc, AIMS or its equivalents in Medical Lab Sciences registered with the Institute of Medical Lab Science & Technology of Nigeria.
(6) Radio graphers, Applicants must possess BSc/HND in Radiography.
(7) Optometrists.
(cool Nurses (BSc Nursing).
(9) Biomedical Engineer.
(10) Medical Record.
(c) Accounts And Budget. Applicants must possess BSc in Accounting or Banking and Finance. Membership of professional accounting bodies such as ICAN, ANAN etc is an added advantage.
(d) Logistics. Applicants rnstosess BSc/HND in any of the following
fields: Business Administration, Marketing/Purchasing and Supply, Catering/Hotel Management, Automobile Engineering, Quantity Surveying
and Computer Engineering, Building Technology, Estate Management and MSc Architecture, Transport management, or any other relevant qualification. Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
(e) Education. Applicants must possess BSc, BA or B.Ed in any of the following: Maths, the Physical Sciences, French or Computer Science. Computer Literacy will be an added advantage.
(f) Information. Applicants must possess BSc in Mass Communication, BA Graphic Arts or BA Printing Tech. Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations will be an added advantage.
(g) Legal Services. Applicants must possess LL.B and BL. Possession of LLM will be an added advantage.
(h) Sports. Applicants must possess BSc Physical & Health Education.
U) Music. Applicants must possess BA/HND Music with specialization
in any music instrument.


RATINGS
6. Qualification. A candidate for enlistment into the Nigerian Navy as a rating
must:
a. Be a Niger/al? citizen by birth.
b. Not be less than 18 and not more than 22 years of age on enlistment.
c. Be in possess/on of at least Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE) or equivalent.
d. Be medically fit in accordance with the medical standards for the Nigerian Navy.
e. Be unmarried on enlistment.
f. Be of good character and will be required to produce a certificate of good conduct from a responsible official of the Local Government Council where he/she resides. eg. Magistrate, Council Secretary, Superior Police Officer, Clergy or an officer not below the rank of Capt/Lt/Flt Lt.
g. Be free of any previous conviction by a court of law on criminal grounds.


CATEGORIES OF ELNLIS TMENT - RATINGS
7. Al - Marine Engineer Artificers.- OND in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (at least lower Credit) and must also possess SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits in Maths. Physics, Chemistry and English Language.
8. A2 - Weapon Electrical Artificers: OND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (at least lower Credit) and must also possess SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits in English Language, Maths, Physic and Chemistry.
9. A3 - Aircraft Engineering Artificer (Airframe & Engine): Qualification:
Certificate/Diploma in Airframe & Engine recognized by ICAO and must also
posses SSCE or equivalent with credits In Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and
English Language
10. A4 - Aircraft Engineering Artificer (Avionics & Aircraft Electrics,
Electrical/Electronics): Qualification: Certificate/Diploma in Aircraft Elect rics &
Avionics recognized by 1CAO and must posses SSCE or equivalent with credits in
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language
11. A5 - Hull Engineer Artificers: OND in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
(at least lower Credit) and must also possess SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits in
Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English Language.
12. BI -. Marine Engineer Mechanics: SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits including English Language, Maths, Physics, Chemistry. Also intermediate City & Guides or Trade Test Ii could be considered, technical bias Is an advantage.
13. B2 - Weapon Electrical Mechanics: SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits including English Language, Maths. Physics, Chemistry. Also Intermediate City & Guides or Trade Test Ii could be considered, technical bias Is an advantage.
14. 83 - Hull Mechanical/fitters As in Bi and 132 with additional trade In plumbing, welding, machining or woodwork.
15. B4 - Automobile Mechanics as In 91.
16. Cl-Communications: SSCE/ equivalent with 3 credits in English Language, Maths and Physics and passes in 2 other subjects.
17. C2 - Computer: OND in Computer Studies, Programming or Engineering (at least lower Credit) and must also possess 4 credits including English Language and Maths.
18. Dl-Seaman: SSCE/ equivalent with 3 credit including English Language, Maths and passes in 2 other subjeOts.
19. D2-Survey Recorders: OND in Land Survey, Cartography, Geographic
Information System (at least lower Credit) and must also possess SSCE/equivalent
with 4 credits In Maths, Physics, Geography, Technical Drawing and English
Language.
20. D3 - Physical Training Instructors: SSCE/equivalent with 3 credits including English Language and passes in 2 other subjects. Interest and proven talents in sport I4dence of participation in sports at Secondary School/State/YSFON level Is required.
21. D4 Chaplain Assistants: SSC/equivalent with 3 credits including English
language and Christian Religious Knowledge and passes in 2 other subjects. Two
years experience as clergy/Church workers as well as letter o ‘C recommendation by
2 clergies/churches recognized by the NN is required.
22. D5 - Imam Assistants: SSCE/equivalent with 3 credits Arabic, Islamic Religious Knowledge and English Language. Two years experience as imam/mosque attendance as well as letter of recommendation by 2 Islamic clerics/organizations recognized by the NN is required.
23. El - Writers: SSCE/equivalent with 5 credits including English Language, Maths, Account, Economics. Computer skill is an added advantage. Also OND/NCE in account or Secretarial administration would be added advantage.
24. E2 -Store Assistants: SSCE/equivalent with 5 credits including English Language, Maths, and Economics, Computer skill Is an added advantage.
25. E3 - Cooks: SSCE/Equivalent with 3 credits including English Language, Home Economic/food Nutrition and passes In 2 other subjects, Certificate or proven experience as a waiter or Steward is an advantage.
26. E4 — Steward: SSC/equivalent with 3 credit including English Language, Home Economic/Food Nutrition and passes in 2 other subjects, Certificate or proven experience as a waiter or Steward is an advantage.
27. ES - Prof ect Technicians: OND in relevant discipline such as Architecture, Quantity Survey, Civil/Structure/Building Technology. Electrical/Mechanical installations, Urban and Rural Planning, Estate Manage, Land Economy and must also possess SSCE equivalent with 4 credits including Maths, and Physics.
28. Fl - Medical Assistants. SSCE/equivaient with 5 credits In English Language, Maths, Chemistry, Biology/Health Science and Physics.
29. F2 Medical Records/Health Administration: OND/Professional qualification in Medical Records or Health administration (at least lower Credits) and must also possess SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits including English Language, Biology, Maths/Health Science.
30. F3 Piyslotberap, Public Health, Occupational Therapist, Dental Lab
Assistances: OND/Professional qualification in relevant field and must also possess SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits in English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Health Science and Maths.
21. G Bándsmen: SSCE/equivalent with 2 credits including English Language and Passes in 2 other subjects, Certificate In music and proficiency In any musical instrument will be an added advantage.
32. H -Drivers: SSCE/ equivalent with 2 credits including English Language. Current Driver’s License 2 years driving experience as well as letter of recommendation (as driver) from past or present employer is required.
33. J — Journalists: OND in Mass Communication, journalism, Photography, Printing Technology, In formation Library, Public Relations, Graphic Arts, Film making and cinematography and must also possess SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits including English Language and Maths.
34. K-Nurses: Single qualification RN and double qualification in any relevant qualification such as RM, A&E, ENT, Psychiatric, Pediatric, Opt halmic,
Anaesthetic, Public Health, Occupational Health Nephrology/Dialysis all Theatre Nursing and must also possess SSCE/equivalent with 5 credits including English language, Maths, Biology/Health Science, Physics and Chemistry.
35. N -Education: NCE in Arts/Science/Technical subjects in addition to
SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits including English Language and Maths for
Science/Technical subjects, or 4 credits including English Language and at least a
pass in Maths for Arts subjects.

SSC Criteria
Requirements

GENERAL

1. The Nigerian army invites applications from able bodied and qualified Nigerians for the grant of Short Service Combatant Commission (SSC) as officers into The Nigerian Army. The Short Service Combatant Commission offers an excellent opportunity to young Nigerians who want to have an experience in the Nigerian Army without necessarily having to spend their entire career life in it. a. Be a Nigerian as defined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

3. Short Service Commission will granted for 10 years. Six years will be on active list renewable thereafter for a period up to 3 years. No extension is admitted after the ninth year of commission except on conversion to regular combatant where applicable.
a. Cadet Officers who successfully complete the military training shall be granted the rank of Second Lieutenant.
b. Conversion to regular commission is not automatic. It is based on availability of vacancy and other criteria that are or will be in force.
c. All graduating cadet officers must sign an acceptance of the terms and conditions governing the Short Service Combatant Commission before they are granted commission into the Nigerian Army.
d. The reckonable period of service will be based on the date of commencement of cadet training of both civilian and military personnel entrants.

GENERAL

1. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Nigerians for the appointment into the Nigerian Army (NA) as Direct Short Service Commission officers for the following NA specialties:
a. MEDICAL:
(1) Medical Specialist: Applicants must possess MBBS degree or its equivalent and Post Graduate/Special qualifications. Preference would be given to Obstetricians and Gynecologists, ENT Surgeons, Radiologist, Pediatricians, General Surgeons, Psychiatrists
and Anesthetists.

(2) Medical Doctors: Candidates must possess degree registable with Nigerian Medical and Dental Councils e.g MMS, CHB.

(3) Dental Surgeon: Candidate must possess degree registable with Nigerian Medical and Dental Council.

and must be a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.

(12) Nursing: Applicants must be registered Nurses. Applicants

b. CHAPLAIN/IMAM: Christian applicants must be ordained Priests with BA in Theology while Muslim applicants must possess BA in Arabic and Islamic Studies. Each applicant will be required to produce testimony of excellent character by a reputable religious organization in Nigeria.

c. EDUCATION: Applicants must possess BA, BSc or B. Ed degree (Science and Humanities) in any of the following: Mathematics, English, geography, Home Economics, Guidance and Counseling, Chemistry, Physics, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba Languages, Christian Religious Knowledge and Islamic Religious Knowledge, Fine Arts, Library Science; BSc or HND in Accounts and Intro-Tech. Computer Literacy will be an added advantage.

d. LEGAL SERVICE/MILITARY POLICE: Applicants must possess LLB, BL, LLM or BSc degree in Criminology.

e. MUSIC: Applicants must possess HND, BSc or equivalent in Music with L.R.A.M and A.R.C.M.

f. ENGINEERING/ARMAMENT: Applicants must possess HND, BSc or MSc degree in any of the following areas: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Aeronautical Engineering, Electronics Communications, Avionics or equivalent qualifications registrable with council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN).

g. WORKS; Applicants must possess HND, BSc or MSc degree
in Civil/Structural Engineering or Quantity/Estate/Land Surveying, Building Tech/Engineering and must be registered with appropriate professional bodies.

h. CATERING SERVICES: Applicants must possess HND, BSc or equivalent in catering. A good working experience will be added advantage.

i. SUPPLY: Applicants must possess HND, BSc or MSc degree
in Economics or Purchasing and Supply, Membership of Nigerian Institute
of Purchasing and Supply will be added advantage.

j. FINANCE/ACCOUNTING: Applicants must possess HND, BSc or MSc degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Banking and Finance or Insurance. Membership of the relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

k. ADMINISTARION: Applicants must possess HND, BA, BSc MA or MSc in Administration or Management.

l. PUBLIC RELATIONS/INFORMATION; Applicants must have HND, BSc or MSc degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Science or BA/HND in Graphic Arts, Membership of the relevant professional bodies would be added advantage.

m. SPORTS: Applicants must possess HND, BSc or Physical Health Education Proficiency.

n. METEOROLOGY: Applicants must possess HND, BSc or MSc in Meteorology.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

2. Applicant must fulfill the following:

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

3. Direct Short Service Commission will be granted for 10 years, for an initial probation period of 3 years service, renewable yearly for another period of 7 years. Direct Regular Commission may be granted on conversion after 3 years as commissioned officer.

a. All selected candidates will be required to undergo an initial military training at the Infantry Corps Centre and school, Jaji, Kaduna.
b. Cadet officer who successfully complete the military training shall be granted the rank of Lieutenant with no advantage of seniority except fully registered medical Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Architect, Lawyers and holders of doctorate degree in fields relevant to individual service who will be commissioned in the same rank but with 3 months seniority.

RECRUITMENT INTO THE NIGERIAN NAVY

1.     An applicant can enlist into the Nigerian Navy as an officer or a rating having satisfied the general conditions which include nationality, educational qualification, age, medical state, physical fitness as well as freedom from criminal conviction. Other requirements will depend on the type of entry/commission and qualification. Eligibility and conditions of enlistment for the various modes of entry into the NN are spelt out below.

OFFICERS

2.     There are 3 mode of entry into the NN as an officer. These are Cadet Entry (Regular Combatant), Direct Short Service and Special Duty (applicable to ratings only).

3. Regular Combatant Commission. Regular Combatant Commission into the Nigerian Navy is open to Nigerians specified below.’

a.     Soldiers/Ratings/Airmen with appropriate qualifications.
b.     Civilians with appropriate qualifications
c.     They are to undergo military training at an officer cadet training institution and must.’

(1) Be between 16 and 21 years of age at the date of commencement of training.

(2) Be medically fit in accordance with the Medical Standard for the Services.

(3) Have a minimum of 5 credit passes at G.C.E. O/L or WASC or
NECO or SSCE or Grade II Teachers Certificate or National Technical Certificate or their equivalent obtained in not more than 2 sittings in subjects relevant to the Faculty/Course of the/i- choice.

(4) Be a Nigerian citizen by birth.

(5) Be recommended by his Commanding Officer in the case of a serving soldier/rating/airman.

(6) Sit and pass the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) entrance examination and the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB).

(7) Satisfy the requirements for commissioning.

(cool Must be unmarried at the time of starting cadet training.

4. Direct Short Service Commission. Direct short service commission into the Nigerian Navy is open to Soldiers/Ratings/Airmen with appropriate qualifications and Civilians with appropriate qualifications. In order to be considered for the grant of a Direct Short Service Commission, a graduate of a recognized university or holder of a recognized professional qualification must fulfill the following conditions:

a. Be between 22 and 35 years of age for both serving personnel and civilians.
b. Medically fit in accordance with the Medical standards for Services.
c. Possesses a degree from a recognized university or recognized professional qualification.
d. Be of a Nigerian citizen.


CATEGORIES OF ENLISTMENT FOR OFFICERS

6. Qualification. A candidate for enlistment into the Nigerian Navy as a rating

A4 - Aircraft Engineering Artificers (Avionics & Aircraft Electrics, Electrical / Electronics)
Qualification: Certificate/Diploma in Aircraft Electrics & Avionics recognized by ICAO and must possess SSCE or equivalent with credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
A5 - Hull Engineer Artificers
OND in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (at least lower Credit) and must also possess SSCE/equivalent with 4 credits in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English Language.
B1 - Marine Engineer Mechanics

SSCE/equivalent with 3 credits including English Language and Christian Religious Knowledge and passes in 2 other subjects. Two years experience as clergy/church worker as well as letter of recommendation by 2 Clerics/churches recognized by the NN is required.
D5 - Imam Assistants
SSCE/equivalent with 3 credits In Arabic, Islamic Religious Knowledge and English Language. Two years experience as Imam/Mosque attendant as well as letter of recommendation by 2 Islamic clerics/organizations recognized by the NN is required.
E1 - Writers
SSCE/equivalent with 5 credits including English Language, Maths, Accounts/Economics. Computer skill is an added advantage. Also OND/NCE in Accounts or Secretariat Administration would be added advantage.
E2 - Store Assistants

E3 - Cooks
