On loan Stoke City forward, Victor Moses, reportedly rejected a chance to return to Chelsea during the January transfer window.

Moses has revived his Premier League career with the Potters and Stoke are ready to open talks with Chelsea over a potential £5million summer move.

His return to form has been so impressive that Mourinho offered him the chance to join Chelsea’s title challenge in the new year.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Mourinho wanted to terminate the season-loan arrangement prematurely and bring him back to Stamford Bridge, as he moved to strengthen his title-chasing squad.

However, Moses had fears of being put on the bench if he goes back to the Blues, rather than getting a regular run of games he is currently enjoying at Stoke and his refusal forced Chelsea to sign Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado.

A £9million signing from Wigan in August 2012, Moses will be targeted by Hughes for a permanent move at the end of the season and Stoke are hopeful of reaching an agreement.

Chelsea have received significant loan fees from his spells with Liverpool and Stoke and are likely to let him leave.
