Event Overview

The Strategy and Business Plan Competition is a three-part event comprised of endless opportunities to showcase your talent, meet with top company executives, network with entrepreneurs, develop your strategic and analytical skills, represent your university, pitch your business ideas to investors and win cash and other exciting prizes.

Meet the Entrepreneurs: Interact and network with those who have traveled the road before you. Learn from their experience and prepare to succeed.

Business Strategy Game: Compete with other teams in a simulated business environment. Make business decisions and watch your company grow. There's a prize for the winner!

Business Plan Competition: Put your dreams on paper and be prepared to defend your vision. Investors are waiting to fund your bright ideas. Bring your "A" game. The competition will be keen! Lots of cash and consolation prizes will be given out.


The Business Plan Competition:

The Business Plan Competition is the Grand Finale and will be held in Lagos from November 20-22, 2015. Teams that are successful in the Meet the Entrepreneurs and Business Strategy Game will be invited to Lagos. This event will provide students with opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial and business management skills. Students will also be able to meet and interact with the top executives from several blue chip companies.

Prize Money:

First Place Team N200,000.00
Second Place Team N150,000.00
Third Place Team N100,000.00
Fourth Place Team N20,000.00
2 Consolation Prizes N15,000.00 each

Each team will consist of 2 – 5 students who are in their penultimate or final year. Teams can include only two students who are not in the penultimate or final year. Students can come from any academic discipline. We encourage you to form teams with diverse academic backgrounds. Each team should come up with a business idea and submit a one page summary (not more than 250 words) along with this application. Each team should approach a teaching or non-teaching staff member to serve as team adviser. Teams are highly encouraged to leverage on existing technology in the industry served by their proposed business venture. This program is completely free to all participating students. Hotel accommodation, feeding and transportation costs will be provided for all teams that make it to the finals.
