THE SEDUCER
At a dark corner in a night club was youth,
A casanova of cunning repute,
Practising his most valued art,
To furnish his gallery of broken hearts.


There he was,
Gently schmoozing a belle he'd met,
Screening out the world in sheer neglect,
Drowning the damsel in a tete-a-tete,
His arms around her, from nought to protect.


So cuddled up in this romantic pose,
Where sweet words like honey flows,
He began to invoke his wealth of tricks,
And words of cunning began to speak.


''My love for you is smooth as disco tunes,
So smooth will our love ever be.
My love is as permanent as sand dunes,
When the raging desert winds are set free.''


''My heart has been stolen and you're the robber,
I swear my girl, I have not another.
To times unknown you'll be my only one,
In the manner of the household of Solomon.''


''To you I'll belong, ever faithfully,
Even amidst damsels, a million and ten.
My never-wavering enduring loyalty,
Will be like a rooster's to a hen''


Yet, albeit very treacherous were his lines,
The poor lady failed to read between the lines.
She smiled and looked at him with beaming eyes,
And offered herself-His hard-earned prize.


Then the seducer's heart smugly applauded,
As dawn came and chased the dark.
His lover of last night will now be added,
To his gallery of saudered hearts.
