DSTV should be made to adopt Pay-as-you-go in Nigeria! For over two decades we have been subjected to capitalist neo-colonization - Africans fleecing Africans. This must stop!

We need to task our leaders to enact policies that will make life easier for the ordinary man on the streets of Nigeria, as such we need to start making demands, such among these demands should be to make DSTV to either drop monthly subscription in favour of pay as you watch or their license should be suspend as a means to develop local satelite tv providers.

DSTV's main catch is football, Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) can partner with other local sport promotion companies to acquire TV rights of of various leagues and then resell to local TV stations. This will break DSTV's monopoly and strong grip on the market.

We have to task our leaders!

This is a very important suggestion but alas our leaders don't care. Reason being that they have stolen enough that, 12000 monthly doesn't affect them. DSTHIVES make una change Ooh!!!

It's annoying how DSTV goes about increasing their tariff without anybody coughing. The only excuse they give is "they run on diesel/fuel". I think if we have to send enough BCs until it get to the appropriate table, then we can be rest assured that something can be done. Enough is enough. Time for CHANGE

inasmuch as I agree with you, Dstv is a luxury and not a necessity. As for increased in price, let's look at it logically, the exchange rate of Naira to dollar has gone up so it will be a major loose to foreign investor to keep their rate as it were because the reported profit will fall.. assuming Dstv makes a profit after tax and other expenses N10,000,000 or $59,400 (10,000,000×0.00594)at and exchange rate of N168.40($1=N168.40) for November 2014. for April 2015, assuming the profit remains the same at naira and the exchange rate $1=N199.0500, the profit will be $50,240(10,000,000×0.005024) that's 15% decreased in profit from $59,400 to $50,240. This is the major reason why Dstv increased it's charges. For those clamouring for pay as view plan , Dstv would charge you a very high price that you would opt in for Post Paid plan. NBC hasn't said anything about June 21 migration of analogue to digital.
