You climb that stage to face your giant,
and it’s like standing in front of a wild beast.
Lips dry, knees freeze and unconsciously,
every action you’d take becomes calculated.

You raise your gaze but in the enormous entity,
you identify no identity.
Yet, you feel the prickly sensation
of a thousand eyes poking all over your skin.

The attention is killing! Yet, you need it
and can’t afford backing out.
Then, over self-consciousness comes around
and whispers to you piles of your seemingly 'flaws'
at every hush of that ungraceful silence.

It’s all crazy, because you know
that with the right initial impression,
all fright would flee away and you would once again assume your flesh
in front of the judgmental spectators
who ungraciously await being entertained.
