The Step-by-Step Guide In Building Your Own Website

You are going to learn in this tutorial how to design a website for free. It is intended for the Internet marketing Newbies, taking you step by step through the whole process from the very beginning. No assumptions are going to be made here apart from that I would believe that you can browse the internet.

Here We Go!

Naturally, it would be very normal to start by carrying out first a little research on the topic. If you have taken the offer to build for somebody, you would research to understand and develop an outline or format for the website and then to be able to create the site. Variables that may affect the deliverability of your service to your clients such as the target audience, goals and objectives etc, should be asked for at the outset. Most likely before and after gathering facts from the client you will carry out some industry or marketplace study. The extent the research will go will be determined by your experience in the industry and the client's budget.

Once you know what the project is all about, it’s time to get some ideas together, and brainstorming is a great way to start.. Rather than looking for the perfect idea to be your first, throw out any and all ideas or concepts for the website as a start. A few websites might require a routine web interface, with navigation and content areas to be where most users expect them to be. Others may require a unique concept to present the content. Really, what should should determine the design and the approach to designing should be the content of the website. A blog site would entail a different approach from an e-commerce site in design and approach.

Get Your Domain Name
The first thing you need to do before anything else is to get yourself a domain name. This is the name you want to give to your website. The domain name can be something like, "example.com", where example could be anything at all. You have to subscribe annually or so for the right to use the name. Getting a name does not get you a website or anything like that. it's just a name. It is like registering business name in the corporate business world which does not mean you have the business already running.

You can read more on Important Precautions to Take When Buying a Domain Name here: http://www.thesitewizard.com/gettingstarted/precautions-to-take-when-buying-domain-names.shtml

After you have read that, you will need to know the steps to registering a domain name and the things you need to look out for when registering.

Choosing a Web-hosting Company
A web host is basically a company that has many computers connected to the Internet. When you place your web pages on their computers, everyone in the world will be able to connect to it and view them. You will need to sign up for an account with a web host so that your website has a home.

The next step is to host your domain on your account on your web hosting company.

Web Page Designing.
Once you have settled your domain name and web host, the next step is to design the web site itself. You can either hire a Professional or do this yourself. I would want to believe you would do it yourself.

Different options exist on the web for carrying out this step, but as a beginner, your preoccupation at this stage should be to put up something on the web first. The fine-tuning can come after you've figured out how to publish a basic web page. One way is to use a WYSIWYG ("What You See Is What You Get"wink web editor to do it. Such editors allow you to design your site visually, without having to muck around with the technical details. The WordPress is an examples of the editor.

There are available online many other commercial and free editors. Dreamweaver Web editor, I would recommend to anyone who wants an editor that can do a bit more than the free ones. Check the tutorial: Dreamweaver Tutorials - An Index of Dreamweaver Module: http://www.internet4classrooms.com/on-line_dw.htm

The tutorial will guide you on building a very functional website with many pages.

Search Engine Optimization

Search engine promotion does not start after the web site is made.
This tutorial will teach you how to create Search engine friendly sites - http://www.wix.com/support/html5/search-engine-optimization/seo-basics/tutorial/search-engine-optimization

Test-Running your Website
It is important that you test the pages of the website you create to see whether they performing well or not, this you can do using the any of the major web browsers. All the browsers are free to download, either in PC, Mac, Android or iOs device.

Validating Your Website Code
If you want to improve the chances that your website will work in future versions of all web browsers, consider validating the code for your web pages. There are many free software online you can use to achieve this.
The problem now is not just finding out whether there are syntax errors, but knowing what is wrong and how to fix the error. You don't actually need technical knowledge of HTML and CSS to validate the page, since you can use one of the numerous free web page validators around to do the hard work.
One example of such a Validators is called HTML Tidy, this will not only give you valid suggestions, it can even go further to remove the errors.

Using Your Website as an Advertising Platform
Read how to monetize your website by blogging here - http://legitbz.com/mlm-2/make-money-blogging/ and turn your site a money spinning machine here.

Bringing Your Site To Limelight
When your site is ready and good to go, you can submit them to search engines like Bing or Google, definitely, both is better.
Use the links below to do this.

Google - Submit url here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url

Bing - Submit url here: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/submit-site-url

Apart from submitting your site to the search engine, you may also want to consider promoting it in other ways, such as the usual way people did things before the creation of the Internet: advertisements in the newspapers, word-of-mouth, etc. There are even companies on the Internet, like PRWeb, that can help you create press releases, which may get your site noticed by news sites and blogs. Google and Bing are other sites where you can advertise your site for promotion. You can search online to get other means of promoting ones' website.

Conclusion

The guide article is not exhaustive in anyway. The guide is just a suggestion of valid steps one can follow to build functional website withing the shortest period of time.
I hope, the article was found useful in a way!

Naira land uses BB codes and not html tags. E.g for bold not <b>
