Tambuwal Pledges Not To Betray Sokoto People’s Trust by Adeyeancah(m): 8:13am On Apr 21, 2015 |
Sokoto State governor-elect and speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, yesterday assured the people of the state that he will not betray their trust in him. Tambuwal, who spoke shortly after collecting his certificate of return at the state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office, said the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State is all about consolidation and not change. He said the change slogan of the APC is at the centre, adding that he will continue from where his predecessor stopped as governor of Sokoto State. “Your trust will not be betrayed. Sokoto State is largely rural. Therefore, we will do our best to continue with the laudable projects of Governor Wamakko, now the brand new senator-elect. In Sokoto State, APC is all about consolidation while at the headquarters, it is about change.” Tambuwal further commended INEC for conducting an election adjudged globally as transparent, free, fair and acceptable. He said APC both at the state and national levels will give priority attention to job creation, agriculture, healthcare, solid minerals, rural development among other basic needs of Nigerians. Also presented with the certificates were senators- elect, Governor Aliyu Magatatarda Wamakko, Sen. Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir and Ibrahim Danbaba Danbuwa, elected to represent Sokoto North, Sokoto East and Sokoto South, respectively. Others included House of Representatives members- elect – Hassan Bala Abubakar (Sokoto North/South federal constituency), Musa S. Adar (Gada/Goronyo), Abdullahi Salame (Illela/Gwadabawa), Aliyu Shehu (Bodinga/Dange Shuni/Tureta) and Kabir Marafa Achida (Wurno/Rabah). Others were Aminu Shehu Shagari (Yobo/Shagari), Sa’adu Nabunkari (Binji/Silame), Abdullahi Wamakko (Wamakko/Kware), Aminu Sani Isa (Isa/Sabon Birni), Abdussamad Dasuki (Tambuwal/Kebbe) and Isa Salihu Bashir (Tangaza/Gudu).
