The Hungarian Government announced the policy of “Global Opening”, as part of which the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 for foreign students.
The aim of the programme is to promote cultural understanding, economic and political relations between Hungary and other countries.

Full time studies:

BA/BSc (undergraduate – 3 years) -in Agriculture, Technology, Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering, Water Management Engineering and Oil and Gas Engineering.
MA/MSc (graduate – 2 years) - in the fields of Agriculture, Business and Management, Business, Infrastructure and Urban Engineering, Technology, Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering, Water Management Engineering and Oil and Gas Engineering.
PhD studies (doctoral – 3 years) - NOT APPLICABLE TO NIGERIANS UNFORTUNATELY. HOWEVER, APPLICANTS MAY STILL APPLY WITH THE HOPE OF BEING CONSIDERED IF THE REQUIRED QUOTA IS ACHIEVED YET BY THE HUNGARIAN GOVERNMENT.
Part time studies:

short term training courses and practice, including study visits in the English language for groups of professionals already possessing a degree primarily for the following fields of studies: agriculture, business and management, economics, technology, engineering and management, water management and environmental engineering, energy economics and energy engineering.

Financial provisions relevant for every full-time scholarship holder for academic year 2015/2016:

NO TUITION FEE
Monthly stipend: HUF 40 460 (EUR 130) per month in the case of BA/BSc, MA/MSc programs, and HUF 100 000 (EUR 325) per month for PhD students
Dormitory places or additional contribution to accommodation costs: HUF 30 000 (EUR 100)
Medical insurance

Application Fee: N5,000 - (NON-REFUNDABLE). The non-refundable application fee includes (i) Provision of all the necessary information of the scholarship; (ii)Professional guidance to complete the scholarship application to avoid errors due to parallax. (iii) There shall be important updates for Applicants whose 1st Choice is University of Pecs, Hungary. Although, there are other institutions under this scholarship scheme in Hungary. However, we strongly advised applicants to make their 1st choice the University of Pecs.
