Dr Nnenna Ezeigwe, on Thursday advised households to embrace good environmental hygiene habit to successfully eliminate malaria in Nigeria. Ezeigwe gave the advice during the town hall meeting organised to commemorate the 2015 World Malaria Day in Abuja.She said the theme for the World Malaria Day 2015 is "Invest in the future: Defeat Malaria; Your action counts". "This calls for the combine efforts from every one of us, urging Nigerians to work towards achieving the common goal which is getting our communities free from the menace of malaria. "The slogan for this year is 'Your Action Count' this is again emphasising on the importance of involvement by all stakeholders including the private sector in the fight against malaria. "Everyone has a role to play in bringing down the burden of
malaria in various communities. "We should put efforts keep our environment clean, avoid stagnant water, and bury disused tyres, empty cans and broken bottles to avoid breeding of mosquito," she appealed. She urged the people to keep maximum use of nets by hanging them every night and cover windows with nets.
