Manchester United move ahead of Chelsea in chase to land £22m-rated Brazilian starlet
Manchester United have emerged as frontrunners in the chase to sign Fluminense starlet Gerson.
The Brazilian youth international has made 12 first-team appearances for the Rio club this season and scored four goals.
Scouts from Old Trafford have watched the 17-year-old in action for Brazil Under-20s but face a battle with Chelsea, Juventus and Barcelona to secure his services.
Fluminense want to keep Gerson until the end of next season at least, but would be prepared to let the midfielder leave if their £22m valuation is met.
