Please i need advice on VW Jetta 2006 2.0L Turbo FSi maintenance. I need you kind advice cause i'm considering getting one soon. I do 50km daily from work and my house. I hardly drive on weekends. Please, your candid advise is welcome. |

As much as I'm a VAG fan, I would NOT advice anyone other than a technician or DIY enthusiast to buy and use a T-FSI - engined Audi or Volkswagen in Nigeria. Nigerian mechanics are far from being clued up when it comes to turbo technology, even on older models. Throw FSI (Fuel Stratified Injection) into the equation, and you have a very complex set-up. FSI fuel pressures are high, almost as high as that in a diesel engine, the fuel pump from a regular engine will NOT work here. Then there is the decarbonising process, which requires a strip-down to perform. You also do relatively short trips, so your engine will require this process more often. This is something every FSI engine needs periodically. Give this car to a roadie who doesn't know his elbow from a wrench, and your car will be destroyed in a very short time. ibrodex: What are the major setbacks of FSI technology? Aren't the ones I mentioned enough? The Volkswagen Jetta doesn't come with just 1 engine option. |
