An ignore button is a feature that allows a poster to disable a trolls post from appearing on his thread. I believe that would make up for the deficiencies of the report button.

A report button though effective to an extent, but can be limited by the bias, prejudice and fatigue of the moderator the complaints is sent to.

An ignore button will stop tribalistic posts in nairaland, because all the tribal warlords in nairaland are trolls. It would also stop derailment of threads and make moderation of politics section easy.
