Ecumenism is the principle or aim of uniting different branches or denominations of the Christian church.
Christianity on the other hand is the religion that is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the belief that he was the son of God.
My simple question is ecumenism possible in Nigerian Christendom?
Going by the fact that we have so many denominations that are aligned under two broad Christian associations that is the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN) and the Christian Association Of Nigerian(CAN).

It will be very difficult, because some churches neither belong to PFN nor CAN, but with God all things are possible

Ecumenism is already taking place amongst nigerian christians and all over the world through the charismatic movement. It only has not reached its maturity stage.

It isn't possible amongst Christians anywhere.

They have different doctrines and different spheres of power - people do not enjoy having to give up their influence.

Jesus prayed for the unity of the church.

The Bible is pretty inconsistent too, which is part of the problem.

He prayed for the unity of the CHURCH not denominations/varying traditions/doctrines. If it were as you said, then His prayer was not answered right?

If the church is the body of Christ and all its members joined by one spirit. How can they be divided?

Maybe you should read the parable of the wheat and tares. smiley
