Earlier this month the administration of the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) in Nigeria organised an architectural design competition to develop a model National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp for the FCT in Kwali, which would also serve as a benchmark for the other orientation camps across the Federation. This is a very welcome development as the state of orientation camps in the country is (for lack of a better word) APPAULING!!.

The sorry state of our National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps has been a source of concern to corps members and the NYSC administration itself. This is especially worse in states where they camps are on temporary sites which were not designed for camping.
