I need to ask a question that has been on my mind for a while now.

I have heard expressions like
'How much did Nwobodo stole?'
'I did not brought war' etc.

I normally would expect the verbs in the two sentences to be replaced by their present tense forms, 'steal' and 'bring' respectively.
I am however not convinced as it seems the trend of using these words like this has become recently rampant.
I would like someone who has done any research on the issue or maybe an expert of the English grammar to provide correct answers to my question.
