slimsy:She can start by gathering pdf files to study the physico chemical properties of the woody endocarp of mango seed. I think they are much online. A good lab can help her carry out a proximate and elemental analysis to determine the constituents of the Endocarp using normal AOAC methods and AAS. If she knows the constituents of the endocarp in terms of fiber, moisture, sugar, and metals, then she can start predicting the possible polymers that will be formed by epoxylating. After epoxylating, she should analyse again to know the property of the polymer(s) formed, she can then carry out polymeric flexibility, strenght, rigidity, Tg, etc etc tests. These can be done in any standard laboratory. 1 Like |
