It is not for us to say whether homosexuality is wrong. Who are we that we can determine the standard of morality? It is our Creator alone who has the authority, right, and wisdom to set the laws to govern our lives. Thus, we must turn to the Word of God for ultimate guidance on this important issue.

Homosexuality is forbidden in several Bible passages, such as:

"You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestable." (Leviticus 18:22, WEB)

Immediately following the ordinance against homosexual intercourse is the prohibition against bestiality:

"You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman give herself to an animal, to lie down with it: it is a perversion." (Leviticus 18:23)

Having sex with the same gender and sex with animals are sins that warranted the death penalty under the Mosaic covenant (Leviticus 20:13, 15-16). Under the new covenant for Christians, people who commit sexual immorality and refuse to repent will not enter the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). In other words, they will be sentenced to eternal death. This is an everlasting death penalty.

Here is one passage that mentions both male and female homosexuality:

"For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting." (Romans 1:26-28, World English Bible)

Clearly, Yahweh God through the apostle Paul indicated His disapproval of homosexual behavior and lifestyle. Homosexuality is "inappropriate" and "not fitting." Its passions are "vile" and "against nature." There is no stronger vocabulary to indicate God's intense disapproval of homosexual practice.
