I was editing a free relatively simple Html email today. Horrible!!

Now I understand why well-grounded Web designers and developers just won't agree to do html email.

If you wrote it yourself, which is difficult in itself. You will have to heavily comment it to able to edit that rubbish perfectly later on. I ended up cursing whoever wrote the simple layout. Tables, rows, columns jumbled up together. I can't imagine what developers went through when css wasn't around. Total chaos.

Microsoft is such a foolish coy, and it's evident in the dead discontinued Internet Explorer, dying Windows RT. I doubt if the new Spartan browser will be any different.

Microsoft Outlook reiterated that they will continue using text editors for email and that html has no place in emails.

Left to Microsoft the open source community will be scrapped and buried. Left to Microsoft great looking websites won't be possible.

Html email will continue to progress and Microsoft Outlook will die like IE.


I'm designing my own template from ground up myself now! Whew!
