Mention a successful movie producer and director, making waves in the Nigerian movie industry today and you have got Kunle Afolayan and that is why he is the most envied in the movie industry.

Citing a case of the recent peaceful protest that the movie industry embarked upon recently to fight piracy, one actor Yomi Fabiyi who spoke to Ynaija said

“To be honest with you, there is no love in our industry at all. You see, many peeps did not show up for the walk because they thought it was all about Kunle Afolayan and his October 1st movie, so they stayed back. They have got this big beef for him all because he is so succesful. Some of them said ‘so because of kunle that is why we will now walk under the sun, oh please no, we are not interest’, that’s why the protest was scanty. They are envious of his success. And that is really childish of them.”
Speaking further, Yomi said “Many of these members are always competiting with themselves and trying to outdo one another instead of joining hands to fight piracy together. That is why we have too many associations under this body (Actors’Guild of Nigeria). We need a well strutured legislative body and not just form presure groups and start calling it AGN. “
