Why the most cited important quotes are not from African people?

You will be hearing of Isaac Mophatlane, Carlos Castaneda, George Kneller, McWilliams, James Thurber, Babe Ruth, Thomas J. Watson, Mark Twain, Socrates,etc.

Is it because most Africans are illiterate and don't want to read? So we have only exhausted proverbs? Or because we don't want to use what our people are saying daily on news papers and author biographies?

We want to see something like:
