Anyone got information on the Ogun State Goverment (OPIC) River view estate sharing a border with the Lagos state River view estate?

What is the current state of the allocations, when will drainages and roads be constructed, and any ideas on current market prices for the plots?

Let me first of all say that river view belongs to ogun state government. The infrastructure for the esate is ongoing and i believe will take some time before it is completed. presently you can not get a direct allocation from the government, but you can buy from those that have it. I have contacts to some for sale and the price ranges between 5 and 6.5 million. For further enquiries call 07025693802 or send a mail to brand.specs@yahoo.com

I just got this information from the web, jut wondering the impact of this press release on allottees who have completed payments but yet to have the survey plan and C of O from the bureau of lands.

With threat of withdrawal of allocation for lack of development after 2 years it should be clear you cannot locate and develop your properties without those documents

OGUN STATE
OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA

The Ogun State Government is pleased to inform the general public that the opening up of her new residential schemes has commenced statewide. Consequently, actual allocation of plots within the schemes are expected to commence shortly. The affected schemes are:

v. Itele New Town Scheme, Near Ayobo
vi. Ogijo Mixed Development Scheme
2. Similarly applicants for “Ratification of Title” within the underlisted schemes who have been issued letters of approval and are yet to make full payment are advised to do so immediately failing which they risk the revocation of the approval already obtained

2. It is regrettable that despite the spirited efforts of government and widespread consultation, activities of land speculators on many of its acquisition statewide have not abated. Government wishes to seize this opportunity to warn miscreants/land speculators (Omo-Onile) and squatters on government land to desist from encroaching on government acquisition. Failure to heed this warning may lead to full application of the weight of the law on such offenders.
3. Government wishes to also use this medium to advise all allottes of plots within government schemes statewide who have failed to develop their plots at least 2 years after the allocation to commence physical development immediately or risk the forfeiture of such undeveloped plots.
4. The Ogun State Governor, His Excellency Otunba Gbenga Daniel wishes to reiterate the administration’s commitment to allocate land to applicants who are willing to commit same to immediately physical development. This is in pursuit of the administration’s policy on the provision of affordable shelter for all.

I also got info the Ogun government want to collect more cash even from investors who have fully paid all charges

This is from interview with The Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Ogun State, Mr. Gbenga Ogunnoiki

Many people are worried that the government is not moving fast enough to put infrastructure in place in the area to enable them move in and develop. What assurances are you giving on this?

Ask them how much they paid for land and they will tell you it is such a paltry amount. When they were paying the money, we told them that government was going to introduce some special levies. Just five minutes away from here at Berger, Omole and Magodo in Lagos, a plot of land is being sold for between N40m and N50m. We collected N1.5m here, that is too paltry and this is not Akowonjo or Egbeda. It is not Ifo, this is a mega city and if you are paying N1.5m for land and government is telling you that with the kind of infrastructure we are bringing here, you need to pay more money, I think they should feel obliged to pay because they all know how much they pay for land in Magodo or Omole.

The River View Estate is the estate to be now; we are not going to give it for less. It is going to have the entire infrastructure in place. It is going to have side-walk and streetlight, name it; everything is going to work at River View Estate. This is coupled with the fact that we are doing grading of roads and channelisation of the water body in the estate. I think people should be ready. We are dredging the Opa Aro River here to the Majidun end in Lagos. This will take a lot of money. If people are ready to move here, they should be ready to pay for the services we are rendering.

Have you communicated the new charges to the allottees and what has been their reaction?

We have been sensitising them through the media, and many of them have been responding very positively. You can see many people here at our Isheri office. That shows that all of them want to partner with the government in development. It is not like we are just taking money. How much did they pay? The government did not say their money has gone down the drain; we are not even revoking the land. We are only telling them that if you have developed, that’s your luck and if you have not developed, we will relocate you to the back. We will give the land in the front to the people who are ready to develop now and they have the option of taking their money back.
