The FIFA U20 world cup is gradually upon us, in 7 days time the future stars of soccer will battle it out at New zealand. This year's edition is proving to be the most followed by every nigerian. Probably because of the high hopes we have for our darling F/eagles. But generally, we all love good football and hope to entertain ourselves with this tournament. We will love to see players that will bring out the magic of soccer. So I decided to write about the top players you should watch in this tournament.
Here we go...

1. GEDION ZELAZEM
Gedion can play for USA, Germany and Ethopia, but he chose to represent USA. The arsenal midfielder is a wonderful player. That scores and assists very well. So anytime you are watching USA U20 playing watch out for Gedion Zelalem.

2. GIOVANNI SIMEONE
The son of Atlethico Madrid's coach Diego simeone, giovanni, is already a regular for River plate. This guy is a very exceptional striker, he was top score at the South American Youth Championship with a staggering 9 goals. He scores mostly within the penalty area. And also a serious contender for the golden boot award. Other teams Beware!

3. ANGEL CORREA
Angel is the ying to Giovanni's yang. This wing wizard plays for atlethico madrid. He is compared to sergio aguero and carlos tevez because good skill, good technique and delightful first touch. Seriously one to watch.

4. CLIFFORD ABOAGYE
He was bronze ball winner at the 2013 U20 world cup. This granada B midfielder hopes to lead ghana to world cup glory.

5. GONCALO GUEDES
Skills and Dribbling the portuguese winger has it all. Goncalo guedes is been nicknamed the next Cristiano ronaldo. He has a release clause is reportedly more than 40 million euros. He was runner up at the last UEFA Youth league with Benefica B. He is now a regular with benefica.


6. HIRVING LOZANO
Lozano is been hailed as the next big thing to emerge form mexico and seriously it is no mistake. He was joint topscorer at the U20 CONCACAF. He is a regular for his club pachuca and is reportedly scouted by top european clubs. This forward will definitely light up the world cup at NZ with good goalscoring ability.

7. TAIWO AWONIYI
Talk about someone been destined for greatness, then talk about taiwo. Started from the bench for Nigeria at the U17 in 2013 and scored 4 goals as Nigeria emerged champions. Since then he has not looked back. He has scored and excelled in practically every match he plays. He scored 3 goals as nigeria won their 7th AYC. Taiwo will lead the attack for nigeria in NZ. Another heavy contender for the golden boot.

8. KELECHI IHEANACHO
The MVP at the U17 in 2013 needs no introduction. He is nigeria's talisman. The manchester city forward has a left foot that scores wonderful goals and assists great goals. He has returned from injury to score in two finals for manchester city EDS. He will be a force to reckon with at the tournament. And with his great performances seen thus far.. You have to watch this kid.

9. MALCOLM
If you love a team that entertains you shouldn't miss brazil's U20 match. This corinthians of brazil forward is has pace, great skill and goalscoring instinct. Although he was called up as a replacement for injured kenedy of brazil, he will carry brazil throughout this tournament.

10. ZOBIKHILLO URINBOEV
Urinboev is an uzbekistan talented youngster that already has a first team shirt at bunyodkor ,an uzbek team outfit. He played at the last U20 in 2013 and was joint topscorer at the AFC U19.

11. JULIAN BRANDT
The bayern leverkusen midefielder is an exciting player to watch. He was part of the german team that conquered europe at U19 level +n 2014. He will lead this german team who are favourites for the trophy, to the world cup.

12. ISAAC SUCCESS.
A Nigerian goal scoring machine. One of the only 2 Nigerian U20 players that plays senior team football in their European clubs. Highest goal scorer at CAF U17 in 2013. Scored 2 goals aready in 120mins of action @ 2013 FIFA U17 WC before being substituted due to injury. Better drilled and more matured we only wait to see him in action.

I will be disappointed if Nigeria does not go all the way to win this tournament.Talents everywhere.
