A member of the National Youth
Service Corps (NYSC), was found
dead in Ilorin, the Kwara state
capital.
According to reports, Yetunde
Shukurat Idowu was last seen
shopping at a popular
supermarket, ShopRite, located
along Fate road.When Yetunde’s
did not come back home her roommate and neighbours raised
the alarm and alerted the police.
The body of the young woman
was found lying lifeless on the
street at Government Reservation
Area, GRA, on May 24, Sunday
night. Yetunde was an indigene of
Ogun state was a member of the 2014 NYSC Batch B set. The police the Police Public
Relations Officer in the state, Mr.
Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the
death adding, “We are still
investigating, now cannot say
exactly what happened. It could be a case of a hit and run or an
accident. As far as we are concenrned, it was
a reported case of “found dead”
with a broken skull and bruises,
for now I can’t tell you whether it
was a case of whether rape,
abduction or kidnapping.”
The incident is still under
investigation, as police are trying to
establish circumstances
surrounding the death of the
youth corps member. Yetunde’s
family was contacted and her body would be released in the nearest
future.
