Below are a number of job vacancies at a recently launched Digital TV station. More vacancies will be added as they continue to expand their services. So, if media is your thing, make sure to apply.


1. Corporate Communications/Social Media (RLGC 06/CCSM)

Job Overview

Responsible for coordinating the communications output within a company. Creates and delivers emails, direct mail, brochures, newsletters, and other publications.

Use the Social Media platform to engage people, generate conversations and capture leads and sales from these relationships.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create company literature and other forms of communication.
- Create marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic.
- Work with advertisers for timely and useable ad submissions,
- Write Copy, edit, proof read, and revise communications.
- Design and launch email-marketing campaigns.
- Recommend, implement and maintain site design and operation.
- Work with manager and business units to determine event budget and manage expenses to that budget.
- Promote products and services through public relations initiatives.
- Develop marketing communications campaigns.
- Create thought leadership materials.
- Create and deliver press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals.
- Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and customer references.
- Research media coverage and industry trends.
- Coordinate conference, trade shows, and press interviews.
- Manage information.
- Implement the company’s Social Media marketing - content strategy,
develop brand awareness, generate inbound traffic and cultivate leads and sales.

- Designing and implementing the Company’s content strategy, creating relevant content, blogging, community participation and leadership.

- Prepare agendas and conduct research.

Educational & Professional Qualification:

Bachelor degree in Mass Communication or related discipline. Professional membership in any relevant professional Association will be an added advantage.

Experience:

3+ years of experienced in the media industry, especially, the TV station.

2. Sales/Marketing (RLGC 06/CSM)

Job Overview:

The job requires the selling of advertising space in a digital TV to ensure that revenues generated from advertising are fully maximized.

Main duties:

- Contact potential clients, usually over the telephone but also in a face to face environment (client presentations, client days out, business lunches / dinners), to describe potential advertising opportunities.
- Contact existing clients to arrange the design and placement of advertisements, the payments for this and to ensure their continued support.
- Account management of a client base ensuring that the clients’ needs are being catered for and that they are happy with the service and response. You will review their existing spend and build on the relationship to maximize sales opportunities.
- You will attend meetings to ensure your clients are fully aware of all potential advertising, promotion and sponsorship opportunities and to cement your relationship with them for the long term.
- You will develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the market place you work in, including regular analysis of competitor activity and identifying opportunities for new product development and new revenue streams.
- Attend industry networking events, exhibitions, seminars and conferences to build awareness of your industry and meet potential and existing clients.
- Work closely with the editorial features team to ensure all leads are covered and relevant information exchanged to the benefit of both parties. Editorial input from sales executives normally receive a welcoming response.
- Work closely with Scheduling department to ensure advertisements are placed into the correct products, in the right place and at the right time.
- Work closely with the advertising operations team to ensure the correct advertisements are placed on the correct programme at the correct time, according to your clients’ wishes.
- Keep accurate records of sales, contacts and deals.

Skills Required

Strong personality, telesales, strong confidence, both bar and retail experience. Ability to match your product to what the client is looking for, to be controlled, assertive, mature, flexible and innovative.

Educational & Professional Qualification:

B.A. or B.Sc. in the Social Sciences or related discipline. Professional membership of any relevant professional Association will be an added advantage.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years experience in same position in a reputed Digital TV station or Ad. Agency.

3. Scheduler/Media Monitoring (RLGC 06/SMM)

Job Description

- Creating a daily transmission schedule for the channel
- Liaising with external departments for any programme, promo discrepancies, late start times and outstanding material
- Liaising with the Sales Departments for all commercial scheduling, outstanding material and over sells
- Promotion planning and meeting contractual agreements (compliance)
- Scheduling of channel branding
- Viewing and scheduling of channel branding and promos
- Creating promo reports
- Providing supervision of any last minute programme changes and live broadcasts
- Responsible for final schedule and the distribution of it to on-air users both internal and external
- Media Monitoring: reading, watching or listening, (using all the media monitoring spectrum), to the editorial content of media sources on a continuing basis, and then, identifying, saving and analyzing content with the purpose of ensuring compliance, and using same as a key tool for Public Relations, Marketing & Competitive Intelligence.
