Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The series chronicles the adventures highlighting the wizardry adventure of a young boy, Harry potter.

1. The idea of writing Harry Potter fell into the novelist, J. K. Rowling' head in a four hours delayed train boarding from Manchester to London.

2. Not less than eight publishers rejected Harry Potter's first series, Philosopher's Stone, before Bloomsbury agreed a deal with the novelist. The release was on 30 June 1997.

3. The second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was originally published in the UK on 2 July 1998 and in the US on 2 June 1999.

4. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was then published a year later in the UK on 8 July 1999 and in the US on 8 September 1999.

5. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was published on 8 July 2000 at the same time by Bloomsbury and Scholastic.

6. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was published worldwide in English on 21 June 2003.

7. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was published on 16 July 2005, and it sold 9 million copies in the first 24 hours of its worldwide release.

8. The seventh and final novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was published 21 July 2007. The book sold 11 million copies in the first 24 hours of release, selling 2.7 million copies in the UK and 8.3 million in the US.

9. The plot concerns Harry's quest to overcome the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort, one who aims to become immortal, conquer the wizarding world, subjugate non-magical people, and destroy all those who stand in his way, especially Harry Potter.

10. With over 450 million copies sold worldwidely, it rack up the best-selling book series in history.

11. It have been translated into 73 languages such as Azerbaijani, Ukrainian, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Welsh, Afrikaans, Albanian, Latvian and Vietnamese. The first volume has been translated into Latin and even Ancient Greek
