True Life Story
An Ibadan young man got a very good job in Lagos and decided to redeem his failed promises to his lover of 6 years. Two days to Valentine's Day, he scheduled a delivery of some exorbitant gifts to his lover which was due for delivery on February 14 after emptying his bank account.
In the spirit of springing surprises, he switched off his phones to raise the anxiety of his lover who was ignorant of the placed order. His lover was confused and disturbed throughout Valentine's Day. The gifts were NEVER delivered until 2 days after Val when she had already made-out with her long-term admirer out of frustration due to a misconception of her lover's silence.
The gifts were delivered after she left a parting message for her lover. She got the gifts in tears and making a U-turn on her decision created a vacuum nobody could ever fill. A strong relationship was destroyed by the inefficiency of the Online Shopping platform.
Here is the moral lesson; an agreement is like a bond that needs to be honoured whether it is written or verbally done. A breach in agreement is a betrayal of trust. This isn't good for business, friendship or any relationship no matter how trivial.
