The General Assembly at the CARDExpo conference and exhibition holding on 23rd-25th of June at Eko Hotels and Suite will hold on June 23, 2015. The objective is to provide critical information on ePayment to help drive usage and adoption through consumer education.

As we know, the adoption of electronic payment has been on a consistent increase in Africa which only focuses on technology know how. But beyond the theories of modernization, innovations, solutions etc. payment technologies need to start impacting on the real sectors of economic growth such as Oil & Gas, Aviation, Health, POS Merchant, restaurant and Eateries, Hotels, Supermarket, Utility, Transportation etc. which will help boost the macro- economy. For instance today, the Nigerian government have an initiative that uses mobile application to deliver fertilizer to the rural farmers following the experience of Bangladesh.

Government, Financial Institutions and donor organizations are working all over Africa today, looking for the right model for financial inclusion as the unbanked population keeps increasing. Banks and other stakeholders must however realize that the key success factor for financial inclusion is multi-sector application of electronic payment in the economy.

The general assembly is therefore designed to bring together members of the public from different sectors of the economy to understand how they can benefit from the payment platforms, schemes and channels.
