Ajibade is a good player but i always remember Harry Kane crossing corners im like who does he expect to score. Ajibade goes to the wing too often neglecting the fact that she is the best finisher, with number 9 and 20 we have crazy skills on the wings we just need to score the ball. I back Ajibade to sccore and lead us into the next round. 1 Like |

So I have a bit of free time. Lets see how we can qualify. 1. We MUST beat Korea. Puts us on 4 points, same as Korea. So if it comes to that, Korea may qualify because they have scored more goals, and we would have scored less. BUT if we beat Korea by more than 2 goals margin, then we will qualify, no matter the outcome of the match between England and Brazil. 2. If Brazil beats England, and Nigeria beats Korea by more than 2 goals, then Brazil tops group and Nigeria 2nd. 3. If England beats Brazil, and Nigeria beats Korea by more than 2 goals, then England tops group and Nigeria 2nd. 4. If England and Brazil draw, and Nigeria beats Korea by more than 2 goals, then Nigeria tops the group and Korea 2nd (so far the draw is not up to 3-3). So it is very simple for the flamingoes. Just beat Korea by 2 goals or more and you will be going to quarter finals. Korea will be very open, so we will have plenty chances, and they will create chances too. 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli:You got it right. The goalkeeper has been one of the team's best players. She can stop long range shots, and is quite comfortable in handling crosses. She should be among the U-17 players that Dedevbo should consider inviting to the Falconets, alongside Omokwo, Ajibade and Kenneth. |

Nigeria U17 Coach To Make Key Changes Vs
North Korea, Press Conference Cancelled Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigerian Under -17 Women’s National Team participated in their final training session at the match venue before Saturday’s win-or-bust clash against Asian powerhouse North Korea. The Flamingoes stuck to the rules of the competition as the workout held at Amman International Stadium lasted for approximately one hour. Feelers from the team’s camp in Jordan strongly hint that manager Bala Nikyu will make key changes to his starting line-up after his side failed to score against Brazil and England. Meanwhile, the mandatory pre-match press conference scheduled to begin at 1630 hours did not hold as journalists, who were supposed to be present to ask questions stayed away, preferring to attend the games taking place on Friday. There are no injury worries in camp and the girls are aware they need an outright win against North Korea to stand a chance of qualifying for the quarterfinals for the fourth time. Do we proceed with Sir CFCMan's Super Falcons thread created prior to Canada 2015 or should we create an entirely new Super Falcons thread not just for the upcoming CAF AWCON.... Germany, Venezuela advance as records crash (FIFA.com) 07 Oct 2016 THE DAY REPLAYED – Germany and Venezuela are through to the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Jordan 2016, while Mexico pipped Spain to top spot in Group A. The Germans and Spanish will now reprise their European Championship final, won by the former on penalties, while El Tri can look forward to a showdown with Deyna Castellanos & Co. Those are the most significant consequences of Matchday 5's results and yet they represent just the tip of the iceberg in describing the drama that unfolded. Join FIFA.com, therefore, as we look back on a day on which records were broken by a Vinotinto sensation and a 14-year-old German, as Canadian hearts broken by a team that played for 53 minutes with ten players. Results Group A New Zealand 5-0 Jordan Spain 1-1 Mexico Group B Canada 0-2 Venezuela Germany 2-0 Cameroon Goal of the day Canada-Venezuela, Deyna Castellanos, 30' If you're going to break a record, why not do it in style? That, clearly, was the attitude taken by Deyna Castellanos, who became the U-17 Women's World Cup's all-time top scorer with a truly magnificent goal. Danger had appeared minimal when, with her back to goal and surrounded by Canada defenders, the Venezuela No9 had taken a high ball down on her chest. But in one lithe movement, Castellanos produced a brilliant back-heel turn to escape her markers and, from 20 yards, smashed an unstoppable right-foot shot into the roof of the net. It was a moment of magic from a player who appears to specialise in making the extraordinary seem ordinary. Memorable moments Size matters in Al Zarqa With an average height of 170cm, New Zealand boast the tallest squad at Jordan 2016. Size isn't everything, of course; after all, Spain, with the tournament's smallest squad (average 156cm), beat the Kiwis 2-0. But today the Junior Football Ferns' superior athleticism and power was a significant factor in the hosts being swept aside in Al Zarqa. With their starting line-up on average 6.3 centimetres taller than their Jordanian counterparts, Gareth Turnbull's side had a physical advantage to match their evident technical superiority. The result was a one-sided 5-0 win in which the speedy Hannah Blake was able to help herself to three goals and assist. Super sub seals it for Germany Castellanos may have grabbed the limelight once again, but she wasn't the only record-breaker on Matchday 5. Substitute Lena Oberdorf, Germany's youngest player at just 14, had been on the pitch just 49 seconds when she put her side 2-0 up with her first touch of the match. It was, by a distance, the fastest goal ever scored by a player coming off the bench at this tournament, eclipsing Lee Sodam's effort (1 minute, 13 seconds) for Korea Republic against Japan in the 2010 final. Oberdorf's team-mate Giulia Gwinn also maintained her impressive record of scoring in every game at this U-17 Women's World Cup, a feat that no other player - not even those who have made just two appearances - can match. From tears to cheers for Spain Coach Maria Is. rang the changes for Spain's top-of-the-table showdown with Mexico, making no fewer than seven alterations to her line-up. Maria Blanco was one of the players given the chance to make her first start of the tournament but, sadly for the luckless forward, her involvement was to prove short-lived. Injury forced the little No17 from the field after just 12 minutes and, by the time the interval arrived, she was still to be seen weeping and being consoled by her sympathetic team-mates. In football, however, one player's loss tends to be another's gain, and Blanco's replacement, Eva Navarro, grasped her chance, scoring the equaliser that preserved the 2014 finalists' unbeaten record here. The stat 386 - The number of consecutive minutes New Zealand had gone without a U-17 Women's World Cup goal before Sam Tawharu's early opener against Jordan. The Junior Football Ferns had failed to find the net in all four of their most recent matches at this tournament, losing out by an aggregate score of 13-0. But once they started scoring, New Zealand couldn't seem to stop. Another four goals followed to give them their biggest-ever win at the U-17 finals, while Hannah Blake became the first Kiwi to score a hat-trick at a FIFA tournament since Rosie White in this tournament's inaugural edition in 2008. By finally finding the way to goal, New Zealand also left Nigeria as the only team at Jordan 2016 still to get off the mark. The words "Until recently, our players had only ever competed against teams like Spain, Mexico and New Zealand on their PlayStations. Thanks to this tournament, those kind of games became a reality for them." @ TheSuperNerd: You can create a new Super Falcons thread, or include the Falcons in the title of this thread as a general thread on Nigerian female football teams. |

Okay.... Sirs CFCman and Olapluto.... Since you guys dropped similar suggestions about including "The Super Falcons" to this thread as a general thread for all our female soccer teams and because the players are also interlinked across all levels.... Then I believe Sir Orkpekyandega is in the best position to make that modification as the OP of this particular thread. Creating a new thread will be nice but I think building on this thread will be nicer and better. Thanks Bosses. Cc: Sir Orkpekyandega... Over to You Sir.... CFCman: olapluto: |

TheSuperNerd:No we should not proceed with the Super Falcons thread created prior to FIFA Women's World Cup 2015, rather an entirely new one should come up. Hence the 2016 FIFA Women U17 and U20 normally start and end different from the CAF Qualifiers and World Cup Calenders of the Senior Women's World Cup, I suggest a different thread be created for Superfalcons and the Flamingoes & SuperFalconets. Take for instance, every thing about the Senior Women Football ended in 2015. Therefore, joining the activities of the junior once may not be too interesting looking at the dates and timing. By the time the FIFA U17 and U20 Female Tournaments come to an end this year, we would expect Sports Landers to create a new thread to that respect. Same with the FIFA Women World Cup. Lastly, just as we normally handle issues of players playing home and abroad in the Male Football Threads, if a Female Footballer who plays either home or abroad is spotted. We can decide to discuss about her considering the age bracket she falls in. If she is matured enough, that is, talent and age wise, she can be discussed on the Falcons or U17/U20 threads respectively. |

Okay.... Good Insight there Sir Orkpekyandega You've touched a central reason why I asked if a new thread for the Super Falcons should be created. Okay..... It's still outta my hands but I am now swayed by your suggestion for a new separate Thread for The SF and maintaining this one for the Flamingoes/Falconets thread (or do you suggest another thread for the U-17/20 categories and young talents also because of the current thread title?.... This thread's title can be modified to continue as the Flamingoes/Falconets and New Young talents threads). TheSuperNerd:The reason why I felt we should not continue with the old Super Falcon's is because Sir cfcman may find it difficult to modify the topic of thread, hence it is carrying "2015". Especially when such a thread must have made front page. Secondly, I strongly believe that every thread is like a project and every project is bound to have time limit. Hence the need to start a fresh thread for Flamingoes & Falconets combined after their world cups respectively. It's just an opinion Sir. |

Without wanting to sound like a broken record, I expect nothing from Nigerian football until Pinnick leaves. He is not there for football progress, rather he is there to chop the money. These girls dont deserve this level of coaching. |

Orkpekyandega:To be frank, ever since l began watching our female youth teams in 2008, l have never seen a team as bad as this team, that lack ideas upfront. Even in 2008, when they failed to get past the first round, the likes of Ebere orji entertained even my mom who doesn't watch football that often, but there's almost nothing to be proud about as far as this team is concerned. They should all focus on their studies and forget football for now except maybe Rasheedat and opeyemi sunday( though they were not also really exciting to watch). 1 Like |
