Here are some very obvious bible facts, so obvious its hilarious how we manage to bungle them every time. But that's what being human means : missing the obvious and excelling at the mysterious. Here we go: ADAM AND EVE : If you ask most christains why our first parents were expelled from the garden, a good many will say "its because they ate the forbidden fruit". However the bible says otherwise, they were expelled becuse God didn't want them eating from the second tree as this would make them immortal. Genesis 3:22-23 THE THREE WISE MEN : The problem here is that the bible never told us the number of wise men. The bible only mentions the number of gifts as 3, and this is were most people probably deduced the number of wise men from. MATHEW 2. HEAVEN HELPS THOSE........ : Many of us have used this maxim to inspire ourselves into taking charge of our lot. The error, however, is that this maxim is not an express statement in the bible, in fact it was coined by Benjamin Franklin in his book : Poor richards almanac. SAMSON AND DELILAH : Who doesn't know about how samson lost his strength by having his hair shaved? The million dollar question : who did the shaving?............ Yes, it wasn't delilah judges 16:19 but her servant, shocked right? JONAH AND THE BIG FISH : Most of us sunday school kids always think a whale swallowed jonah. Well the bible said a Big "fish". This is where the excuses lied if Christians are told to defend and prove their God's existence by placing an order to god to perform certain task, for instance, "god i want to eat food" and nothing happens, they use the slogan god help those that help themselves. Ohh that means god can't perform the task alone but need a helping hand to assume he perform the task after one might have finished the work and got himself the food. Fallacious appeal to non-existence authority. b]SAMSON AND DELILAH[/b] : Who doesn't know about how samson lost his strength by having his hair shaved? The million dollar question : who did the shaving?............ Yes, it wasn't delilah judges 16:19 but her servant, shocked right? I imagined people believing that holy crap. If one ever believe this as literally true without any shroud of explanation how he workout it are capable of believing any myth and legends ever told even the ones narrated in their villages. Does it matter who shave his hair, the concern is believing it happened. b]JONAH AND THE BIG FISH[/b] : Most of us sunday school kids always think a whale swallowed jonah. Well the bible said a Big "fish". So according to science it couldn't have been a whale, because a whale is a mammal.  You are on point by pointing out how mere rumour become true which can be demonstrated by jonah and the fish adventure and was invaded by whale idea. Coin this up and see the true nature of Bible inexplicable and unprovable stories that today became nothing but the truth. |
