A former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University
of Technology Akure, FUTA, Prof Albert Adeoye
Ilemobade has been kidnapped.
The septuagenarian was reportedly abducted at
his Ijapo residence early Monday morning
alongside his gateman.
A source within the family said it was his maid
who discovered that the former VC was nowhere
to be found when he woke in the morning and
subsequently raised the alarm.
The abductors who reportedly went with his car
later abandoned it along Ijare road, in Ifedore
Council Area of the state.
Family members, friends and acquaintances have
begun to besiege his Ijapo residence.
His abductors are yet to make any contact with
the family as at the time of filing this report.
Confirming the incident, The State Police PRO,
Wole Ogodo, said security operatives have begun
investigation on the matter.
Prof. Ilemobade was the Vice Chancellor of FUTA
between 1987 and1995.
