The Role Of Unity Schools In Nation Building by nex(m): 9:47am On Jun 24, 2015

From the 1960s to 1970s, the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria established UNITY SCHOOLS with the primary aim of integrating and grooming leaders, for the future of both the public and private sectors of Nigeria, who would bear the responsibility and build the mindset of fostering National Unity.

50 years, and hundreds of thousands of graduands later, is it fair to say that this project has been a success that should be built upon, or perhaps a structure which requires dire restructuring in order to play its role effectively in the current state of the nation.

The Lagos State Chapter of Federal Government College Kano (FGC Kano) Alumni Association has put together an event for all stakeholders, including Government officials, Educations Ministries, Students, Teachers, Administrators, and Alumni of ALL Unity Schools across the nation to discuss “The Role Of Unity Schools In Nation Building”, and also to deliberate on the future of these Unity Schools, and measures which can be put in place to ensure this role is actively and effectively played in the future of Nigeria.
