The Guaranty Trust Bank Orange Ribbon Initiative is one of our community development programs on child healthcare, designed to support children with developmental disabilities or special needs, especially Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The Initiative creates a platform where you can learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Autism Spectrum Disorder; as with other developmental challenges arise from insufficient development of a child’s physical, emotional or intellectual capacity. This is largely misunderstood by society making it difficult for affected children to cope with the everyday demands of their environment and may lead to varying stages of social stigmatization.

Our theme for the 2015 programme is themed ‘Bridging Gaps & Transforming Lives’.

There is no single answer or one-size fits all treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. Learning new techniques and other truths however, can help families cope with the emotional and physical challenges and allow communities to better understand and serve children and young adults with disabilities their attempts to communicate and to lead a normal life.

We welcome the chance to work with people in creating a climate of understanding and a network of educators and experts to further provide assistance in this awareness endeavor.
