Game Of Thrones’ Deadly Differences: The Show Vs. The Books by Mcwrath02: 8:30pm On Jun 24, 2015
HBO’s version of Game of Thrones has not hesitated to eliminate characters who are still breathing in the books.

All men must die. Any good Game of Thrones fan knows that. But lately more and more men—and women—seem to be dying sooner than George R. R. Martin might have originally intended.

HBO’s Game of Thrones series had already diverged from the books upon which they were based in important ways. But lately it seems that, especially with the publication date of the sixth book in the saga still unknown and the series needing to move past what’s already been written, the differences are getting deadlier. (Spoilers below.)

Most of the deaths that differ between books and show relate to minor characters. The most wrenching, of course, was Shireen Baratheon’s burning at the stake—in the books she’s still safe and sound at Castle Black. And in the season five finale, Myrcella Lannister is poisoned by the Red Viper’s paramour. In the books a rogue blade slices Myrcella’s ear off but the rest of her is intact and alive. And there is one significant change in the show concering a major character: Catelyn Stark, stabbed to death during the Red Wedding, remains dead in the show. In the books, however, she’s brought back to life, reaping vengeance as Lady Stoneheart.

Below, a list of some of the key differences.

..but actually I anticipated JonSnow death. Was even thinking he would die when the WhiteWalkers attacked the crows or when they got to the Wall.

Remember the words The First Ranger said about The LordCommander making more enemies than friends in the Night Watch's Camp.

All Good stories must come to an End!
