RAMADAN

The crescent moon sparkles in the night.
Twas more crystal-clear than bright
the desert camel gallops through the sand dune,
racing against the half-bred moon.

knees and head on holy ground
hearts are heaven-bound
lips yield to holy creeds
as men's hand untold their rosary beads

from dawn to dusk I thirst
my heart free from lusty-flirt
my tongues deprived of wines
and words of ungodly lines

my garment is as white as snow
drifting from the arcs of the mountains-low
my heart pays homage to the creator of man
as I slowly sail across the holy month of Ramadan

I am a christian but I appreciate the diversity of religion. I fast with the muslim faithfuls on some days because i believe we serve one God thru different means. RAMADAN KAREEM
