For a start, jacking means to manually upload facts into one part of the brain for easy download few moments later. Let's enjoy the hilarious but true differences.

1. Knowledge gotten from jacking lasts a few weeks or months but knowledge obtained from study lasts a life time.

2. Most students jack, a few true scholars study.

3. Regrettably and almost inconceivably, Nigerian tertiary institutions are structured in such an ugly way that jacking begets greater grades than study which may even lead to failure. What are you studying? What the lecturer does not know or what you may never understand?

4. The ladies are better off at jacking while guys are slightly better off at studying.

5. Jacking produces unemployable graduates while studying produces erudite individuals.

6. The reward of jacking is A,s and B,s; the reward for study is wisdom and success.

7. Jacking is done by "Jackophytes" while studying is done by "Scholars".

8. Jacking produces mono-dimentional sudents while studying produces versatile minds.

9. A little systemic error can distort the knowledge obtained from jacking while it will take only death to delete knowledge obtained from studying.

10. Jacking involves just memorizations while studying involves reasoning and meditation.

So, do you study or do you jack?

Sure.
Op, the environment in which you find yourself largely determines your purpose of study. If you are in a university where the 'geniuses' are those who make excellent grades, then you might want to adapt and follow that trend. Have you ever asked yourself why you understand when you 'jack'? It is because there is an emergency to be checked, and that is your exams or tests. Thus knowledge gained from that method of reading can be applied mainly to the purpose for which it was gotten; and that is to pass exams. Conversely, knowledge gained from studying for the purpose of solving problems comes in handy when problems arise. Such knowledge can be put to practical use and because it was gotten for that purpose, it usually stays long, for our problems never end. So in this world, we are left to choose between these two types of reading-- 'jacking' and studying. The future always reveals the pathway one took before arriving at one's current status when a problem arises and call for knowledge comes in.

The way I see it, the continous act of jacking is studying. In my case, I love to incorporate both approaches.

That said, I believe your point No6 is contradicting your point No5. If ''jackophytes'' graduates with high grades then the chances of them getting employed is wider than hell, as no company would love to employ graduates with low grades.

Jackophytes are easily chosen for a job because of their good grades, but they tend to divulge their incompetence in the long run.

Most Nigerian Organisations way of recruitment is a perfect paradigm of this.

OP i really concur with ur post, buh d environment you find yourself determines which of the two you go for. In school like mine, OAU, baba na jacking sure pass, cos wetin u won study? Sumtin u dnt knw? It is beter u jack nd get A in ur 5 unit course than to study nd get C. Op gud job.

You have all made great contributions. Even here in Uniben, jacking is supreme.
