FACING THE ANAKIMS (caleb's 12 Lessons) by toys2seven(m): 5:03pm On Jul 05, 2015
Bible Text: Joshua 14:6-15.
Introduction: The Anakims were the giant on the promise land during the children of Israel's sojourn from Egypt. They were ruthless Warlords and only their countenance is enough to strike fear into whoever was looking at them. I'll be likening them to challenges and difficulties we face today.
Moses sent twelve spies to spy on their land, and only two (Caleb and Joshua) believed they could conquer the land. Numbers 13.

12 Lessons I can learn from Caleb's reaction to these very people of Anakim.
1. Anakims are giants in the promise land. They were Warlords and the people of Israel regarded them (albeit out of fear)
2. Anakims stand for big hurdles and challenges on our lives especially on our road to fulfilling destiny.
3. They lived on a mountain, difficult to be caught by surprise or overthrown. Characteristics of certain stubborn and humiliating challenges in our lives.
4. Caleb desired the land and waited patiently for 45yrs. (he was 40 when he spied on the land, conquered it at 85) We must be patient.
5. Caleb held on to the promise Moses made to him. Time frame or old age didn't make him forget. (Joshua 14:7)
6. Other spies saw the Anakims from the physical perspective, He and Joshua saw differently. We must learn to see our challenges with the eyes of faith. (Numbers 13:30)
The disciples saw 5 loaves and 2 fishes, Jesus saw numerous baskets of food.
7. He was respectful to Joshua. (Humility). They were undercover agents/colleagues when Moses was alive but now, Joshua was in charge. We must be respectful to whoever God has allowed to be higher in rank than us.
8. He believed part of the reason he was still alive was because of the promise yet to be fulfilled. (Joshua 14:10). That's a purpose driven life.
9. He believed in himself, he was determined and had great level of faith... For years. (Joshua 14:11-12).
10. He didn't compromise. He wanted the land of the Anakims and over the course of 45yrs didn't shrug and look for another land. We should not compromise for anything. When results are not forthcoming, the devil tries to make us compromise.
10. He knew what he wanted and went for it. Regardless of his age, he asked for THE MOUNTAIN. (Joshua 14:12). Identify what you want and go after it with everything you've got. Including faith and handwork and prayer.
11. He had Joshua bless him before setting off to fight. We should make sure our endeavours are endorsed by our spiritual superiors. (Joshua 14:13).
12. The destiny of Caleb was attached to that land. And that's why the land didn't have rest from war until Caleb subdued it. (Joshua 14:15b).

May God help us to fulfill destiny and not live unfilled lives IJN.
Any thing that's planning our untimely death would be destroyed by fire.
The faith that conquers before the war is started shall be given unto us as we continue this month.

God bless you.
Have a nice week ahead.
