Manchester City have been so quiet in the transfer window before the signing of Rahem Sterling for a British Record of £49 million. Last season was one of the worst for Manchester City for many years. The signing of Fernando from Porto was a failure because Fernando did not meet the expectations placed on him. Fernando was signed to partner Fernandinho and hence free star player Yaya Toure to push forward behind the striker and wreck havoc for opposing teams . Fernandinho was a revelation of the 2013/2014 season but at the World Cup on home soil in Brazil he was a shadow of himself. He carried that into the new season and did little to provide defensive cover for the team. Eloaquim Mangala was signed for £32 million from Porto but when he played at the back it was calamity time and time again. He cost the team several points and was not far from a Sunday League player (amateur).

Apart from Kun Aguero, the only City player who displayed class all season was James Milner. Milner played every position in midfield and attack for City and even played as a "False 9" in the absence of Aguero. He ended the season with five goals, creating 30 chances and won an average duel of 44% in his 32 league appearances. He did quite well when compared to fellow wingers like Jesus Navas who did not score a "Single " goal all season and Samir Nasri who scored a mere two. Milner might not have been the most talented or physically strongest but he gives determination and desire to the team. His performance is consistent and his productivity high. He left City upon the expiration of his contract and admitted he did not renew his initial five years contract because he rarely got the chance to play and when he did he was played in different positions.

The average age of Manchester City is far higher than most of their rivals with star players like Yaya Toure, Fernandinho, Zabeleta, Bakary Sagna, Geal Clinchy, Martin Demichelis, David Silva, Jesus Navas, Samir Nasri all within 28years -33 years and it's clear that the team needs massive rebuilding. With the loss of Milner and injury struggle of Aguero, it is difficult to see how City can cope this season. The transfer win dow is still open till September 30th and there is still hope for more signings following that of Sterling, to move the club to the next level. Unless that doesn't happen then it's "De ja vu" for any trophy for City this season . See more http://mailtelegraph..com/2015/07/reasons-why-loss-of-james-milner-may.html?m=1

I wondered why Rubbishson overlooked that guy for the last World Cup. As for manshitty too, they don't know how to use the purposeful and powerful guy
