Let’s face it, nobody likes rejection. Whether it’s the plain old thanks, but no thanks kind of rejection you get after pitching the perfect proposal to a client, or the any other ideas? kind you receive after pulling an all-nighter.

But considering that you're likely spend much of your time working for the same company and with their people, it’s important to be sure you want the job. Take note of these three signs that will help you decide to either accept a job offer or run for your life.

The interviewer asks you too many weird questions

From the odd "what fruit would you be in a fruit salad" to the concerning "if there were to be a zombie apocalypse, what would I do?", interviews can be pretty eyebrow raising. Curveballs are sometimes synonymous with interviews. But if the interviewer starts asking you disrespectful, unprofessional or plain odd questions, it usually signals how you’re likely to be treated by the company. It may also be a sign to end the interview and save yourself.

There’s a wishy-washy job description

You shouldn’t have to ask about your job responsibilities; it’s the interviewer’s job to thoroughly inform you of the duties assigned to the position. But should you have to ask, and your request is met with “we’ll figure out your responsibilities when you start”, consider that a disaster waiting to happen. You don’t want to find yourself in a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ position when you’ve applied for a specialised role. Be clear about what you can offer the company, and expect them to be clear about their expectations in return.

The office space reminds you of something out of a horror movie

Regardless of the awkward interview and the equally questionable job responsibilities, you decide to tour your potential workplace, hoping to get a feel for the environment yourself. But as soon as you figure your way up the stairs (thanks to the out-of-service lift) you’re welcomed by a mysteriously-stained carpet, blank stares and a peculiar stain… on what would be your desk. Perhaps it’s now time to say thanks, but no thanks.

Employee attitude, office interaction, and the overall work environment are things you should keep an eye out for as you’re shown around the office. The last thing you need is to spend long hours glued to your aging pc just to avoid tripping over the hazardous electrical cables, or whatever might be lurking in that creaking cupboard.

In a land where unemployment is rife, do people reject jobs? Many people lack self-confidence and worth that they re willing to take any job regardless of its dehumanizing conditions. Do you blame them? If they reject it, others will tke the job with two hands.

The struggle is real!

ello Nairalanders especially Auditors and Accountants in the house.

I am an Internal Control officer in my present company, I just got a better offer in a manufacturing company as an Auditor which I suppose to resume on 3rd of next month.

I received a call from the Chairman of the company today that the company wants to place me on a short training relating to my career for just 3 weeks so I can be more active on my field. But the problem now is that they asked me which of the training I would like to put in to? But only one I know that's relating to auditing is IFRS training which the chairman rejected because the company cannot afford it.

my fellow Auditors and Accountants pls suggest anyone you know to me and the cost.

Thanks as you reply.

When their demand is higher than their supply.

Giving you #10,000000 monthly target And paying you #10,000 monthly.

When the offer letter has a bond that is one sided and only favours the employer rather than both parties. Run for your life.

There are jobs in the country, except that it takes a while to get them, when u accept that there are no jobs yo end up accepting trash , you wont be able to negotiate well and you will ultimately leave the job at the end of the day.
