if you can barb then you're lucky, my mum owns a big saloon in parkland cape town, her barbers are on commission and they are doing good.

I just have a question to ask..... Is the safety situation in Jo'burg very bad due to xenophobia or it is over exaggerated? The info would be useful to me.
Thank you.

A word they say is enuf fo d wise, am not here to discourage u on ur decision dude. Just wanna quickly contribute my own simple advice. First have u consider whre u gonna leave, cus ouse rent in SA no b beans, as u wil b paying ur rent evrymonth. Now depend on d area u wish to leave buh an average apartment is around 1200, here dey cal it bed space meaning u wil have to devide d place wit cotton cus it usually a parlour. Secondly d barbing work, have u ask d guy how dey share d commission as in is it 50 50 tin wch I no can not even b, or is it 60 40. Here is d breakdown. If u make R10,000 a month dat is if u lucky to have much customers in that saloon. For 50 50 calculation = 10,000÷50 anytin u get as answer den minue ur answer frm 1200 ouse rent + groceries as in food den check wat u have left, if it worth working for sombody bro. Thirdly if u wanna invest as in any bisness fo SA, u gat to have a permit, mostly a business permit cus u can't use a working permit to run a business except u re working fo abc coy n u wanna du d permit wit d abc coy which u can not use to run ur own business. Cus if immigration bumped into ur shop n u re showin dem a working permit dat is carryin anoda company name na GOBE. lastly nigerians fo southy dey para as in real para. Dis country na no mercy country at all, wat did I mean by dis. In a situation whre u no nobody dnt b suprise dat ur landlord wil kick ur ass out if at d end of d month u can't pay d rent n dnt b suprise again dat som of dis pple who employ u in other to use u like a slave wil not even accomodate u in there ouse. So I guess u shud first go as a visitor, hit d street or find whre nigerians re much to interrogate or seek fo der advice b4 taken ur final decision.

Like I said ealier on am not discouraging u not to go there oooo, buh am only talking frm experience b4 i decide to come bak home.

Well said, no country is free btw, imagine how hard it'll be for a person from kenya to migrate to Nigeria and work as a barber just to survive, freaking hard right? that's not the case over there, if you're legit and skilled you'll go far, do some side business while working, you could start a Dog business, or sell stuffs online, Sucess is not a miracle, you have to work for it where ever you find yourself.
