i like to clear some issues concerning the mode of dressing for Muslim women according to the glorious quran.
in surah an nur (24vs31)BISMILAHI RAHMANI RAHEEM.AND TELL THE BELIEVING WOMEN TO LOWER THEIR GAZE (FROM LOOKING AT FORBIDDEN THINGS),AND PROTECT THEIR PRIVATE PARTS(FROM ILLEGAL SEXUAL ACTS)AND NOT TO SHOWOFF THEIR ADORNMENT EXCEPT ONLY THAT WHICH IS APPARANT (LIKE BOTH EYES TO SEE THE WAY,OR OUTER PALMS OF HANDS OR ONE EYE OR DRESS LIKE VAIL,GLOVES,HEAD COVER,APRON,ETC),AND TO DRAW THEIR VIALS ALL OVER THEIR JAYUBIHINNA(I.E.THEIR BODIES,FACES,NECKS AND BOSOMS)AND NOT TO REVEAL THEIR ADORNMENT EXCEPT TO THEIR FATHERS,OR THEIR HUSBANDS FATHER,OR THEIR SONS,OR THEIR HUSBANDS SONS,OR THEIR BROTHERS,OR THEIR BROTHERS SONS,OR THEIR SISTERS SONS,OR THEIR MUSLIM WOMEN (I.E.THEIR SISTERS IN ISLAM),OR THE FEMALE SLAVES WHOM THEIR RIGHT HANDS POSSESS,OR OLD MALE SERVANTS WHO LACKS VIGOR, OR SMALL CHILDREN WHO HAVE NO SENSE OF FEMININE SEX.AND LET THEM NOT STAMP THEIR FEET SO AS TO REVEAL WHAT THEY HIDE OF THEIR ADORNMENT.AND ALL OF YOU BEG ALLAH TO FORGIVE YOU ALL,O BELIEVER THAT YOU MAY BE SUCCESSFUL.

AND ALSO SURAH AL AHZAB(33VS59)ALMIGHTY ALLAH SAYS O PROPHET TELL YOUR WIVES AND YOUR DAUTHERS AND THE WOMEN OF THE BELIVERS TO DRAW THEIR CLOAKS(VEILS)ALL OVER THEIR BODIES(I.E. SCREEN THEMSELVES COMPLETELY EXCEPT THE EYES OR ONE EYE TO SEE THE WAY).THAT WILL BE BETTER,THAT THEY SHOULD BE KNOWN(AS FREE RESPECTABLE WOMEN)SO AS NOT TO BE ANNOYED.AND ALLAH IS EVER OFT FORGIVING,MOST MERCIFUL.

SO THIS IS FOR ALL BELIEVING WOMEN WITH NO EXCEPTIONS.

This Arab tradition not for muslims.

Be modest in everything ,thats what the Al Qu'rani says,not go around with gloves in this heat !!!

No,what Im saying is dat,a lot of the 'commandments' should been taken in their proper context. . . i.e some aspects of Arab culture and tradition.

But the general message of modesty,chasity & purity should be taken wholly and not subdued under these arab traditions.

The quran is not an arab tradition it is the book of muslims and nothing exclusive to arabs. Arabs never use to dress that way before the advent of islam. Arabs account for 12% of muslims worldwide and the dressing prescribed for muslim women is in the quran and nothing to do with arab culture or traditition.
