As her tweets this afternoon have made extremely clear, Nicki Minaj is not best pleased with the nominations for this year's Video Music Awards. Specifically, she's not best pleased with the nominations she didn't receive for her hits "Anaconda" and "Feeling Myself," even though the latter was only released on TIDAL.

"Anaconda," Nicki believes, was snubbed in the "Video of the Year" category, and really, she's got a point. There were bananas spinning on turntables! Pineapples too! And aerobic choreography! And though they don't say so quite outright, her tweets make it pretty clear there's one particular video in the mix she feels (she's feeling herself, remember) took its place — she's spoken of "other girls" who did land a nomination, and of videos celebrating "girls with very slim bodies."

Now then, just for reference, the five lucky nominees in that category are, in alphabetical order: Beyonce's "7/11," Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud," Kendrick Lamar's "Alright," Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk," and Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood." Thus, T-Swift is one of only two other "girls" on the shortlist, and "Bad Blood," with its many model cameos, is the only one full of slim-bodies girl assassins.
