Part Time Postgraduate Diploma in Microbiology (PGDM) with specialization in: (i) Environmental Public Health Microbiology (ii) Food and Industrial Microbiology (iii) Medical Microbiology A. Master of Science (M.Sc) in Microbiology with specialization in: (i) General Biology (ii) Environmental and Public Health Microbiology (iii) Food and Industrial Microbiology (iv) Brewing Science (v) Pathogenic Microbiology (a) Plant Pathogenic Microbiology (b) Animal Pathogenic Microbiology (iv) Immunology and Immunochemistry (vii) Microbial physiology and biochemistry B. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) with specialization in: (i) General Biology (ii) Environmental and Public Health Microbiology (iii) Food and Industrial Microbiology (iv) Brewing Science (v) Pathogenic Microbiology (a) Plant Pathogenic Microbiology (b) Animal Pathogenic Microbiology (vi) Immunology and Immunochemistry (vii) Microbial physiology and biochemistry C. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) with specialization in: (i) General Biology (ii) Environmental and Public Health Microbiology (iii) Food and Industrial Microbiology (iv) Brewing Science (v) Pathogenic Microbiology (a) Plant Pathogenic Microbiology (b) Animal Pathogenic Microbiology (vi) Immunology and Immunochemistry (vii) Microbial physiology and biochemistry ADMISSION REQUIREMENT: A. Postgraduate Diploma in Microbiology (PDM) (i) Holders of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree (at least third class degrees) in Microbiology from the University of Benin or any other University recognized by Senate. (ii) Holders of B.Sc (Hons.) degrees (at least third class honors) in related fields of study from this University or any other recognized by Senate. (iii) Candidates with qualifications and experience deemed adequate may also be considered for admission. (iv) HND in Microbiology with a minimum of upper credit pass. B. Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree: (i) Holders of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree (at least Second Class Honours) in Microbiology from the University of Benin or any other University recognized by Senate. (ii) Holders of B.Sc (Hons.) degrees (at least Second Class Honours) in related fields of study from this University or any other recognized by Senate. (iv) Candidates with qualifications such as Fellow of Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology (FIMLT) whose qualifications and experience are deemed adequate may also be considered for admission. These candidates shall register for and pass the following undergraduate courses in addition to the prescribed postgraduate courses: MCB310, MCB410 and MCB412. (v) Candidates who are holders of HND in Microbiology and low grade degree (Third Class) in related fields of study from this University or any other recorgnised by Senate will be qualified for the pursuance of Masters degree after successfully completing PGDM programme with an overall result of B (60%) and above. C. Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) Degree: (i) Holders of Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Microbiology from this University or any other University who scored an overall average of between 57% and 60% in their course work at the Master level. (ii) Candidates admitted for a PhD programme in Microbiology in this department but are unable to complete the programme may be considered for the award of an M.Phil degree. D. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) with specialization in: (i) Candidate with a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Microbiology from this or any other University recognized by Senate. Such candidates must have earned an average score of 60% in the course work at the Master level. (ii) Candidates with a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree in Microbiology from this or any other recognized University. DURATION OF PROGRAMME: (a) PDM: Part Time – 2 – 4 semesters (b) M.Sc: Full Time – – 2 – 4 semesters (c) M.Phil: Full Time – – 2 – 4 semesters (d) PhD: Full Time – 4 – 8 semesters The Info above is from the University Website. However, i was notified at the Departmental Office that the Masters Degree Program is a Complete full time with Lectures almost every day of the week with little alterations. Secondly, there is an[b] Entry Exam or Aptitude Test[/b] if you wish to call it. This was the much i could get from the busy secretary at the office. Just go admitted into - Environmental and Public Health Microbiology UNIBEN 2016. So guys login to your portal account and check. Accepted Names are posted directly into the portal. sorry please what was ur seat number mine was 82 and what did u score since u got admitted for EPHM. I also applied and wrote exams in Oct. so I wanna know if there's hope since have not been admitted yet |
