Award winning Nollywood actress and successful mother of one, Genevieve Nnaji, was born on the 3rd of May, 1979. She hails from Mbaise local government in Imo state but grew up in the ever busy Lagos. She got her secondary education from Methodist Girls College and University degree from the prestigious University of Lagos.

Genevieve Nnaji’s first appearance on TV was in a soap opera titled ‘Ripples’ and she was 8 at that time. She was fully introduced into the Nigerian film industry in 1998 while she was 19 where she acted alongside Regina Askia in ‘Most wanted’. She rose to stardom without problems as her acting talent could be seen even by the blind and she is presently one of the highest paid Nollywood actresses.

In 2001, she won an award for the Best actress of the year in City People Awards and also won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005 Africa Movie Academy Award. Her acting is flawless and she is loved and respected by all.

The classy mother of one is also a model and a singer. She has featured in several commercials and was the ‘Face of Lux’ in 2008. In 2004 she signed a recording contract with EKB Records and released a debut album ‘One logologo line’.

Genevieve’s success can be perceived from afar and so many see her as a role model. She owns a clothing line ‘St Genevieve’ which was launched in 2008 and she is the first Nollywood actress to be on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

She has featured in over 100 movies. Some of which are: Most wanted, Doctor Bello, Ije, Stand by me, Sunset in Africa, Silent scandals, My idol, Mirror boy, Girls cot, Beautiful soul, Warrior’s heart, Tango with me, Half of a yellow sun, The chosen one, Late marriage, Honey and a whole lot more.
