The police uncovered a number of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Ibadan during a search at a public function. The explosives the explosives contained detonator cords, high dynamite batteries, detonators with ammonium nitrate, underlining that if the explosives were well combined and constructed, they would form highly explosive IEDs.

The police cautioned members of the public to be more security conscious and beware of materials left carelessly in public places to avert any form of disaster.
