Neco 2008/2009 Nov/Dec is released today.

Yeah, it is true but always with its but. No link to check and I don't know when that will open up.My people are ever eager to see their results.

The Director, Examination and Administration and acting Registrar of the National Examination Commission (NECO), Mr Emmanuel Duro Philips, has announced the cancellation of a total of 346, 568 results of the SSCE external examination it conducted in Nov/Dec, 2008, due to examination related offences as it officially announced the release of results yesterday in Minna.

Statistics from the results indicates that only 27.74 percent of the 307, 744 who sat for the examination passed with 5 credits including English and Mathematics, adding that 21, 201 candidates which reflects an approximate figure of 6.89 percent of the total candidates who sat for the same examination also had their results in all the registered subjects cancelled.

Oyo state tops the list in the number of candidates who registered for the NECO external examination with 52, 318 while Ogun and Lagos came second and third respectively, fielding a total of, 28, 143 and 26, 130 candidates respectively.

Mr. Philip, ventilating displeasure over the situation, maintained that awareness on education seems to be decreasing in some northern and eastern states of the country compared to the number of candidates who registered for the examination in that zone last year.

While Jigawa state had only 311 candidates who registered for the examination, Abia and Adamawa states have, 1, 304 and 1, 796 who registered for the examination.

Mr Philips described education as one factor that adds to the potentials of a developing a country, adding that it is an aspect that must be handled with utmost care in terms of standard and the way and manner it is conducted.

“Education generally is regarded as the bedrock of development in any given society. The global and particularly, national call for a revitalization of the sector makes it imperative on all stakeholders to ensure that it is brought to an acceptable standard that will enhance positive transformation of our society.   

“Therefore, in contribution to the positive transformation of our society through education, NECO as an educational assessment institution, remains unrelenting in discharging its constitutional mandate”, he said.

The punch newspaper of 24th March announced the release of NECO Nov/Dec 08 result,for all who sat,best of luck,write jamb and make use of available study opportunities to get quality education.

Some things never change! what is all these result seizure? so sad you gotta waite another year!

d result for gce was totaly canceled in some centers why?pls who can explain wat realy hapened.

All schools are receiving both result,d fact is dat they cancel so many centers in oyo state,wen i checked it,it was all cancel.i.e the 9 subjects,pls try 2 check urs.

Canceled results are caused by the probable cheatfest that occurred there.

Am so sorry to everyone whose result was canceled or could not make it one way or the other this year, Hope a better luck will come Next time.
