Akinola Femi Babatunde also known as Jelly Jay was born to the family of Pastor Akinola of Ajilete, Iyewa Owode Idiroko local government area in Ogun State and Late. Mrs. Akinola from Ibadan, Oyo State on the 20th of August, 1983. Jelly Jay was born in Egbe area of Alimosho local government in Lagos state, Nigeria. Has a child, Jelly Jay has a humble beginning because he came from a low-profile family. He was the third child and also the first son of the family.

Jelly Jay attended Ijegun Primary School and Ijegun Comprehensive High School, Ijegun, Ikotun, Lagos. He was also trained in the vocational skill of Automobile Engineering. During his vocational training in the year 2001, Jelly Jay met with a music group called Boys-Life and because of his love for Rap music which the group is known for, he joined the group. The group members just like him are all young and talented musicians. In 2004, one issue led to another and there was misunderstanding in the group which spited the group. While some members of the group quit music, he decided that music is his path and focus more on music and that help him in his hip hop music.

In 2007, he started the 7Units Record and by the year 2008, he had become a music producer. As a music producer, he was able to work with the likes of Romeo Otega of Sound Check Studio and Jay Cords of Finger Touch Studio. He has also produced for a lot of artist like Sabiman, Blackmagazine, Gilloranky, Sharon B, Voka, Neckter, Light Star, D Lex, Atakere to mention a few.

Jelly jay first album was released by 7Unit Records on the 27th of May, 2013 which contained among other songs; “Hold somebody” ft. Domillion, “they got me”, “true story”, “I wanna know” ft. Scure Adex and “they got me remix”. His other singles are “Oluwatise” ft. samsexy, “Rap attack” ft. Batun & Finis, “Rap attack prt 2” ft. Ikotun all stars, “so much trouble in this world” ft. 7Unit All Stars, Awa njaiye” ft. Twisty to mention a few. He has release two videos so far “hold somebody” and “good bye mama”. He had also received two musical awards, one as a musician and the other as a producer.

His role models are 2pac and 50cent, he likes 2face, R Kelly and Eminem. As a Manchester United (ManU) Fan, he likes watching football matches especially those matches that features his club. He love listen to cool music at night. He looks forward to become the greatest musician and music producer because music always makes him happy.
