Because we are husbandries of the Europeans, so we must not join them to acknowledge African's achievements in Europe, US, Russia etc. Nigeria is the Description of all the areas around Rivers Niger & Benue. That's a full name with meaning and scope, expansive enough for future development. The Oyinbos who gave the name are not asking for Royalties for the favour done. They don't prevent us in anyway from changing it or from bastardising it and the landscape the way we want. The Europeans that named Nigeria with the meaning I gave above, named UK, US, EU, SA, Egypt etc. Thesame Europeans gave us Computers that have now made the world a global village. So what is in a name? I suggest that the Igbos and the Yorubas, should henceforth stop unproductive politiking, unite with the Hausa/Fulanis to zone Nigeria, naturally by Rivers Niger and Benue, into 3, comprising 12 states in each of the zone.
